The Fisheries

Called in this evening for some chips.
I was told of a 10 minutes wait. No problem I replied.
When my order arrived, the chips were bland, soggy, under cooked and totally unappetising, but I had already paid £2.00 a portion for them!
If you want to pay good money for poor food then visit this chip shop.
Otherwise, go elsewhere!

Further to a reply from the owner explaining that new potatoes can sometimes cause chips to be like I received (bland, soggy and unappealing) I stand by my review, at least untill they either source a good quality potato or train staff to fry what they have to offer properly!

Fish portion looked like a WW2 ration, and was overcooked. Peas were pretty poor. Curry sauce was thin and borderline tasteless. Will be going back to the other one we used to use.

Best fish and chips we have had for a while, generous portions (large fish), very tasty, would recommend.

Always good chips here but today was amazing!! Not sure what you did differently but they were quite possibly the best chip shop chips I've ever had.

Best chippy in Knott End and Preesall area without a doubt.

Used to be brill, but the last few times we went, we felt sickly after, and had no trouble producing a bowel movement the next day/few hours later...Wondered if it was the excessive amount of salt and vinegar they put on 🤔 So we ordered some without, and it was indeed a little better.

Chips are hit and miss, they're often soggy, other times you only get the sharp hard bits that I'm sure can rip you another stomach if not chewed on properly, and you hardly ever get a full portion of 'just right'.

Overall not great anymore, so our family has broken the weekly family tradition of Fish and Chips for all on Friday, and have resorted to Chinese/home cooking instead.

Some of the best fish an chips in the area. Shame about the man across the road who came shouting an balling at us all because we had parked opposite his garage ..that he didn't even need to get in, as it is 27 degrees an we have a toddler in the car so needed some shade! What a nasty man
