Bovey Fish Bar

Popped in there just after 4.30pm yesterday as just fancied some fresh hot tasty chips but when I saw what was being placed in the box they did not look appetizing at all. They were pale, chewy just about warm and dry. They seemed like they have been warmed up from the night before to me. £3.50 for a large portion very disappointing. You would think a chippy cooking them everyday would get this right?

On holiday from the Midlands. Bovey fish bar was the best fish and chips we have had in a long long time. No complaints about anything. Mushy peas were not too salty, just the right thickness… curry sauce and gravy was great. The batter on the fish was just superb, light and crisp. Everything was very hot too.

Very friendly, speedy service. Kids had chips, sausage and burger which looked fine. Chips tasty! Please note cash only, cash machine a few doors away outside Tesco.

Haven't been to Bovey fish bar before and was sceptical of getting a piece of cod as often unimpressed else where but this was lovely! Will definitely go again.

Great quality food really well cooked. Great value for money the best around I think. Staff really helpful.

Nice staff, food OK but bit greasy. Haddock nice, chips bit rubbery. My burger was deep fried and had a pocket of grease in it which came out all over my hands.

Wonderfully surprised to find such good fish and chips whilst on holiday, excellent meal and given the choice of a slice of lemon too (very rare these days)

My regular place that I visit twice a week for lovely fish and chips. Recommended..
