Steve's Fish and Chips

The best fish and chips in town. All fish and specials (halloumi, fried mushrooms, etc.) are cooked to order. Generous portions of all food. Great service from the staff too. Sadly, eating in is no longer available so take away only.

Rip off!!! Just tried them for the 1st time, they was recommended. But i will not be recommending them to anyone else. Very limited menu, looks a bit drab and old inside. I paid £13.30 for Haddock and small chips with small curry sauce and a can of pop which i think is robbery for an average tasting fish and chips, paid half the price elsewhere and had better. The Atlantic fish bar is miles better with better quality and more choice. Could of had a chinese for that much aswell and more delivered to my doorstep. Also im sure some of the reviews are off the delivery drivers and friends.

Ok so food was pretty nice but service is slow and wait times are very long very very long over 30 mins for 4 cod chips n mushy then comes the price. Some cash in my pocket and a credit card. 1. Cards not accepted cash only. 2 they charged just over £60 paid as I was hungry and the oldies I had taken out for the day wanted chippy tea. Portions pretty small but the prices are ridiculous high for no reason. Its take out not the ritz. Will not be going back

Decent enough standard chippy food, but let down by everything being INSANELY expensive and by the really dated and, frankly, dirty-looking 80s decor in shop. Also the guy behind the counter is quite intense and overbearing - stares at you while you're waiting and joins in on private conversations uninvited 😕 Definitely will go somewhere more clean, modern and affordable in future!

Disappointed
We used this fish n chip shop all over lockdown they never shut down during lockdown now we’ve noticed that there prices have all gone up by an alarming rate on everything
It’s a shame because the food is always fresh and top notch it’s just a shame he’s got to greedy on the pricing
We know things have gone up but £12.50 for a cod or haddock or seabass
Seabass you can buy fresh for £3.50 just feel like we’re being ripped off the price seems to change every time you look at the menu

Ordered fish and chips and sausage and chips - read google reviews and thought would be good - how wrong we were! Chips were greasy and inedible, fish just as bad. Complete waste of money as it ended up in the bin 😞

Gave me extra when I only went in for sausage and chips but awesome chippy thank you I will be back again 😁

Steves chippy is an old staple, the perfect place for the classic British take out!.
Quality food well made.
The original owner now retired his sons run it, as it should be.
