Smarts Fish & Chips -Witney

When we arrived on Saturday the restaurant was closed but we asked if we could sit inside as there was 4 Adults & 2 Children the whole team was very accommodating and said we could sit in.

The gentleman who took our order was excellent and the food arrived quick and was piping hot and was the best fish & chips I had had in a very long time.

My son had the mixed kebab out when it arrived was so hot the steam was coming from it and he said it tasted amazing.

Would highly recommend and will be back when we are next visiting Witney.

Just had a superb meal delivered. And spot on time to. The food was delicious and still very hot even though we live in Standlake. My friend was amazed by his tasty the mushy peas were to. She said she’d never tasted any better. I had the jumbo cod meal. WoW!! The cod was beautiful and was pure white. Will be ordering again soon

i ordered two loads of chips and both portions were raw. Next day I go in and tell them that your chips were raw and I would like my money back. The lady behind the counter was very rude started huffing and puffing started giving me so much attitude and I was like look mam I want my money back for your raw chips and she kept saying to me “i promise you 100% I don’t give my customers raw chips” so I tried explaining to her that I know what I tasted they were raw so then she started telling me about all the rewards and medals she’s gotten for her chippy store so I said to her I don’t care how long your chef has been working there for or all your rewards, but you are the worst reviewed place in Witney because the lady behind the counter is so rude to everyone you give one bad review to her she is the nastiest women after she tried telling me to bring unhygienic chips back into the store just so she can re-cook them and I said no I’m not going to bring back a day chips in from the bin Just so you can re-cook them and then as soon as I walked out she was like “fucking money back” it’s disgraceful. Honestly I’ve lived here for 17 years and it used to be the best Chippy in Witney, it’s now the worst and the attitude on that woman behind the counter is disgusting! never going there AGAIN!!!

Good food let down by poor delivery service. This is the second time for us. Do not quote delivery times of 48 mins if it actually takes nearly two hours (still waiting). Fish and chips is not a cheap commodity these days. Your loss.
Only giving one star as the system will not post unless i do so....

I can't fault the service or the food. They went out of their way to deliver to me, I'm a steadfast customer, thanks smarts and thanks to the delivery driver on Saturday 4th December xxx

Had a large kebab , no taste , meat was tough and just tasted awful . Never again ! Way too much money for such bad food. Only have 2 stars because the chips were ok

Went here for fish n chips at lunch. The place was clean and tidy the staff friendly.

Ordered a large chips and a fish cake, very quick service and the food was excellent; the chips were very good indeed!

Outdoor seating available if you order from the takeaway but they also have an attached restaurant as well, if you prefer to sit in and eat.

Based on this visit I’d certainly recommend if you want anything fish n chip style, they also do burgers, chicken meals and more.
