Leyshons of Pencoed Ltd

Well deserved five stars! One of the best we've visited on our UK travels! Spotless place; great portions, super tasty fish and crispy chips. Will be back! Ordering system a bit tricky during COVID 08/20.

Good food, including fish and sausage and always freshly cooked with great choice on the menu. But unfortunately the chips were just okay, a lot of the chips were too hard, chewy or crunchy. Hoping this was just a one off as normally the chips are great!

Sadly somethings changed 😕 EDIT: 20/07/22 ... sure thing.. the chips were no where nice as usual... id normally smash a portion no issue ... these just didn't taste the same ... not greasy perhaps wetter than normal .... size of chip in general was good ... portion size was bang tidy... paper wrapping was excellent... not to many bitty chips ... I bloody hate them scrapy little buggers that jam up into your gums.... my friends enjoyed there fish... good batter and right amount of fishyness... but they to concured that the chip universe was out of balance that particular day .... oooo wait my bezze mate had a sausage... he bloody loves a good sausage in batter ... he gobbled that down right quick and enjoyed every salty mouthfull 😁 hope that is more elaboration on our chip dilemma.... EDIT AGAIN 20/07/22 so chip gate rages on ... so after conferring with my friends over this matter, my recollection of this incident may have been a bit hazy, possibly due to the clouds of sweet smelling smoke we all inhaled from a few houses down, which made us very hungry hence the chippy T... but I digress.... and my apologies... they felt that it can be a bit hit and miss ... and on this occasion the chips had been ok... and possibly some errant vinegar had been splashed onto my portion in error .... so with that in mind we now have pleasure in Awarding you with another star .... I don't get vinegar why wet a perfectly good chip with Satan's pee!

Stunning 😍 , As far as I'm concerned there's Beales Porthcawl, then this place my 2 favs leyshons is closer to where I live so 2 me this IS the best chippy full stop and I have to travel 15 mins drive to come to this chippy but its well worth it.

What can I say beautiful fish and chips ,all freshly cooked.

Food is lovely, but service is slow. Stood waiting 10 or 15 minutes to get served even though she could see me standing there. Then had to wait further 10 or 15 minutes for the food to be done.

Food was bloody lovely. I was only in the area for that day, so shame I won’t get to eat there again. Nice friendly staff. They’ve got two only a few miles from each other. Clean, nicely decorated, great food, good prices. Maybe they should franchise.

Great fish and chip shop in Pencoed, lots more choice on the menu, you must try their dirty chips and salt and pepper chicken.
