Unpretentious little place with several tables and a brisk take-away.

Fish very tasty. Mushy peas are what the name implies.

Service efficient.

Good lunch.

Always great food and service. Chips are simply the best.

Really nice chips. The rissole could do with a little more meat as photographed.

It’s such a shame but since Morgan’s changed hands a couple of years ago, it’s just not the same. We have tried the cod and chips several times and have always been disappointed. The cod is thin and generally over cooked. Our pieces were very small in comparison to before and there was far more batter than fish. Gone is the nice thick, white and flakey fish and now just over cooked, dry and small portions. It could actually be pollock. The chips also seem to be dry and overcooked. I would question whether they are blanched prior to frying. It used to be the best fish and chip shop I’ve ever been to. Sadly, no more. 🥺

By far the best fish and chips we’ve had!!! Perfectly fried fish, nice crispy batter and good white firm fish inside.
Decent portion size as well 10 out of 10, cane wait for my next lot.

Been going here for years, staff are great, food is reasonably priced especially compared to other cafes and restaurants in town, always go here if having a shopping day out with family, my children love the chips and sausage and my favourite is the fruity curry sauce, delicious. Portion sizes are very good, absolutely delicious food and highly recommend to anyone. Large variety of food choices. 10/10

Amazing fish and chips as always. Abrupt and rather poor customer service on our latest visit. Always been very good before this.

I haven't been here since I came as a kid and had such fond memories. Given it's been about 20 years it was strange to see this place looks identical. It hasn't changed one bit. In terms of covid it's a pain, you have to stand at a desk and order you food then fill out a book with your details. You sit down and it's brought over.

The tables were clean but the chairs are rickety and not solid at all. I'm only 14st but felt as if these may give way!

In terms of food.

Cod was quote tasteless and the batter was crispy on top but soggy underneath. It had no flavour at all.

The chips were standard chip shop chips however even with salt were not particularly nice

My son had the kids nuggets and the meat was cheap and nasty.

Costs wise cod and chips £7.95, drinks £1.30. not terrible pricing but I can't recommend this place and such a shame to return here and be disappointed.

Oh and the toilets are rank, felt like I was using a toilet from the year 1546 in a cupboard with no light!
