Great place to get away from noise and light pollution. Friendly welcoming owners who want you to enjoy your stay. Being able to set up camp virtually anywhere is good, along with being able to light a fire! I'm no fisherman but friends that are were impressed with the setup.

Went to have a look at the lake today brilliant lake looked well looked after, owner was sound had a good chat unlike some fisherys around here where they don't want to know so that's a big positive. Find it amazing that it's any method don't think there's anywhere around here all fly only so that's great. Camping on site as well fair play I think they will do very well! Great to see the younger generation fishing I think it's the any method that brings them there which is good as I never see any youngsters fly fishing. Reasonable prices which I'm happy to pay. Will be visiting very soon.

Best weekend iv had with my son.. Bagged 10 fish..
Absolutely amazing place to bring your kids camping and fishing. The owner is a absolute gentleman, very friendly place. I would definitely recommend a tent and BBQ for some fresh fish..

Stunning area lots of wildlife, mushrooms and wild berries growing..

Honestly can not wait for our next visit

The owner Tony was great. This place was supposed to have been closed on this Monday but he opened especially for us. There's not a great deal of facilities at Blackmountain except for the essentials ie toilet.
4 of us went and between us we caught 56 fish mainly rainbow with 1 blue trout caught.
Although there were a lot of fish caught in a catch and release day ticket which cost£15. The only downside was the amount of weed in the lake which is there were more of us there could have potentially been a problem.
We'll be going again. Hopefully the weed will be less the next time.

Well what can I say apart from its what I needed this is a fantastic place if you like fishing and ponds are stocked well but I came for the camping. There is a locked gate so you and your cars are safe and a huge patch of grass where we set up camp. There was 5 big tents still with plenty of room there is also a woodland with flat spots for tents and trees for a hammock and tarp.other than a portaloo there is no other facility but that's OK with me as i wanted to switch off. You can have fires but you need to bring a fire pit so you don't damage the grass.
There are plenty of local walks around the area and a shop is 6 mins by car or tesco is 11 mins by car so you have a lot close by

My final thoughts about this place is I love it and will be returning to camp and try my luck at the fishing
