Cambridgeshire Microlights - Flying School

A great place to experience microlight flying. I have been training here now for a year and their instructors are very professional and experienced. From a training perspective, the airfield has plenty of runways so it is rare that you have to take off or land with a significant crosswind, allowing for more circuit training opportunities as any crosswind will be light.

The club house itself is small but functional, with tea and cake often available. There is a large viewing area just outside the club house for spectators to watch the microlights take off and land, as well as the skydiving aircraft and the skydivers who jump out of it. If you are hungry, you can go next door to the skydiving club and buy drinks, bacon butties, etc, although it is a bit pricey there. Prices for experience flights and training at this club are reasonable, be sure to check out their website for more details. There is also a nice bunch of people at this small microlight club who are very welcoming to visitors, other club members and they are also very supportive to people who are currently in training.

I can only confirm what others have said. Adrian is a great instructor and made my taster flight a delightful experience. Will definitely be coming back.

Lovely airfield and extremely helpful staff. I've flown a couple of times from Chatteris on their flying start package and highly recommend.

I had a 1hr learning to fly experience with Cambridgeshire Microlights. From the moment I arrived I was made to feel really welcome. Before the lesson I was able to chat with some of the private owners all of which were very friendly and welcoming.

My instructor was very knowledgeable tailoring his delivery to my experience. No messing around with getting in the air, after a safety briefing and run down of the equipment we were soon in the air and the controls handed over. During the lesson I was instructed through the basic controls. I flew right through to the approach.

I really enjoyed the experience and will be booking lessons in the near future.
