Cowey Sale is right by Walton on Thames. Has a lovely walk way right next to the river. Children can feed the swans and ducks. There is a big car park which is FREE there is also a fair size cafe with outdoor seating
Right by the car park there is seating area for picnics and for children to run around
It is also a good place to exercise your dogs. It's also a good place for fishing when the fishing season starts
It's wheelchair friendly so there is no problem

Free car parking to enjoy river side. Plenty of car space available. Easy to access 👍👍

Lovely part of Walton. Beautiful walks and some nice coffee shops and pubs by the river. Lots of parking unless there is an event on. Family friendly place. Great spot to watch the sunset on a clear day.

Nice free riverside parking. Height barrier on entrance. Check closing times which vary during the year.
Can be extremely difficult to exit the access road towards Walton at busy times due to no gaps in traffic. Sometimes easier to go left and double back at the roundabout.
Peaceful evenings are often spoiled by boy racers who seem to meet here & make lots of noise. Many people ignore the 20MPH speed limit despite the many swans, ducks and geese that often waddle across the road.

A bit disappointed. Unable to be given refill of my drinking water at the coffee shop in the car park after years of spending lots on coffee

Nice place by the Thames in Walton. Facilities pretty basic and shop is well over-priced. Could do with smartening up a bit and a better offering of food.
Edit March 2021. Now under new management, looks improved but not used yet.

To me, anyway, its a very average place. I'm cycling a lot and this place is on one of my regular routes but there are plenty of other spots which i prefer for my coffee. However, you can't beat a Thamesside location for the views so its worth stopping off.

Lovely place for base to walk from, either along river or by lake on other side. Free parking. Café that serves excellent coffee with choice of 'milks'. Hot and cold snacks.
