The waterfalls are great. You get to see them at several points as you walk. The gravel path up to the lookout to one of the waterfalls is not a difficult walk and takes about 20-25 minutes if you stop to take in the views a bit (depending on how fast you walk). I'm a moderate paced walker.

Beyond that, to get to the main waterfall, the path is much harder as it consists of rocky steps and less fit people may struggle. I'd take poles if you're not fit and/or struggle with stability.

It was a sunny day when we visited and parts of the second half of the trail were a bit wet. I can imagine the second part gets slippy on wet or recently wet days.

We doubled back to do the lower route as well to see the smaller (but more overgrown waterfalls) as well.

Picnic bench/ bench at one of the View points weren't well maintained.

Gorgeous scenery. Moderate walk/climb, the views are definitely worth it. There's a lovely resting point half way up with a picnic bench, it overlooks a beautiful view.
(I visited in July and my photos are from then)

Some really lovely forestry walking (kind demanding same way) with some scenic streams and falls, including the main 🌟 - PEN PYCH Waterfall 💦💙💚
21 m tall, with outstanding views to Rhondda Fawr Valley on top of the mountain of the same name.
👌👌👌

Amazing views. Not too steep. If the walk is taken slowly, even someone with COPD can make it..

Pictures won’t show the great sceneries. A really good to start a walk to the top of Penpych with great views. If you can’t walk far, you could picnic at the beginning.

Fantastic views over the Rhondda valley below and spectacular waterfalls. It does get slippery on the way up to Pen Pych main waterfall on wet days and is steep in parts the the rewards are well worth it. We walked the route again recently, but also walked the lower route to see cascades and a smaller longer waterfall on the river Nant Felin. Fantastic!!!
