We came here for Classic Afternoon Tea. Which included three delectable tiers of French-inspired sweets and savouries, with refillable Classic Tea and Coffee we loved our French delicacies. The Afternoon Tea and restaurant ambience made this a wonderful introduction for us to Cafe Rouge.

Had lunch there on Monday 5th September on my wife's birthday. Couldn't book a table on line.
Visited at 11am to book a table for 3 at 12:30 but just told that should be OK without a booking.
Arrived at 12:30 and had to wait several minutes to be shown to a table and warned that they were short staffed and the food might take longer than usual but drinks would be quick. Then had to wait over 15 minutes before a waitress took order for food and drinks. My wife ordered pate which was not available and they no longer served their nice fish cakes.
I had a minute steak - they used to be a lovely thin tender steak. This one was about an inch thick and consisted mainly of gristle and it was terrible. The beetroot tart was requested without cheese but with sweet fries. It arrived with cheese but no fries. These arrived later with our friends chicken burger - the chicken was burnt. Not a happy lunch experience when Cafe Rouge has always been so consistently reliable in the past. The set menu has also increased by about 30% - acceptable if the service and food quality was good but it wasn't. Manager gave a £10 discount but in spite of that I don't feel inclined to eat their again any time soon.

Not able to sit where we wanted, due to lack of staff, ok get it…
Family of four, I love French food and wanted our girls to experience good French food, so sorry I picked Cafe Rouge.
Beetroot tart was soggy, when I told the waitress she said it could be redone but it would still be soggy! What?!! Tasted like it was microwaved. Not what I wanted. Left that.
Ordered mussels… so rubbery and the thinnest sauce that looked like water.
So disappointed.
The French fries, 2/4 were soggy…. Asked for fresh fries and they were perfect.
Waitress was however lovely.

Just had breakfast here, and I must say it was lovely. I had eggs benadict, and my wife had the full English both were well cooked and very tasty. Service was excellent even when my wife dropped her coffee, after mopping it up, we were offered another. The lovely polish waitress is a credit to Cage Rouge very attentive and helpful. Thank you for a very pleasant breakfast.

I honestly can't say enough good things about this place. For a chain restaurant it doesn't feel that way. The staff are all polite, friendly and welcoming. The service is great and as someone who has spent time all over France this does have an air of parisian café. The food is delicious and well prepared with just the right amount of time before it arrives to know it is not just heated in a microwave. Not only that but the food is good quality and a perfect portion size. Pricing is fair especially for what you get and the coffee is great too.

Food was good, we had a three course meal. It was reasonably priced and a lovely meal out. Staff was good and made sure we were happy although got close to our personal space a bit much. Overall it was a good experience.

Sat in a cold draught.
Coffee good.
Service friendly and efficient from Spanish speaking staff.
Gents toilets not in good state - cracked ceiling and peeling paint caused by long term dripping from wall unit.
Would be nice to be able to see the menu from outside rather than having to go in and be seated.

Omelette was lovely. Let down by the state of the china, needs replacing or a better dishwasher. See pictures, filthy cup and milk jug, also had marks on glass. I’m amazed it gets served up to you in that state, as if that’s acceptable.
