Richard Steel and partners are an amazing firm of funeral directors, who I would wholeheartedly recommend. They are totally professional, and extremely caring and empathic all at the same time. They guided me through such a difficult time and looked after my deceased mother with total respect and care, giving her all due dignity. The arrangements were made quickly and easily, taking into account our wishes. The funeral went extremely well and I have no hesitation in recommending them wholeheartedly. THANK YOU for everything you have done for us.

Nothing was too much to ask Richard Steel & Partners. Evie, the funeral director, was fantastic as well as the rest of the team at Steels, Chesil House, and Janet Powell, the celebrant. Together, they made my father's funeral so special and personal. It was truly unique and they made sure that my sister and me were happy and fine. I cannot recommend them more highly.

A huge thank you to Phil Hutchings and the wonderful team at Steel's. They put together such a lovely celebration for my Father organising and managing things so well. We were helped by a private slot at the Crematorium with our lovely Celebrant Ruth and the Chesil House facility in Winchester was a fantastic venue for our life celebration. The beautiful summer's day helped overlooking the lovely gardens and the river.
It could have been such a sad day but it turned out to be the joyous occasion Daddy deserved.
I should mention that the catering was excellent and everyone enjoyed the music and Photo tribute put together to a high spec by Leon.
I am glad that my Father's ashes will be near us in your Memorial Garden.

Steele’s conducted my mothers funeral with kindness, consideration and dignity beyond my expectation. Special mention to Phil, who was especially supportive and kind to my family and guests.

A heartfelt thank you for your exemplary level of care, professionalism and attention throughout. Phil Hutchings and Chris Johnson are both outstanding in their facilitation of the whole process. We recognise that that it takes a team to deliver this overall level of service, so our thanks to everyone at Steels. It helped immensely at a very difficult time. I would be very happy to recommend them – thank you.

We can’t recommend you enough. From the first call to collect our dear dad to laying his ashes to rest. This was my first funeral I’ve arranged.
Chesil House: The gardens were so beautiful and peaceful. Even the weather was on our side. The chapel so tranquil and how you arranged the flower display and the photos on the coffin. Nothing was too much trouble. You even sorted out the problem with the water coming out of our flower display and made it look like it was part of the display.
A big thank you to Leon. The photo slide show was so nice to see on such a big screen and the timing of all the songs was spot on.
Evie, what can I say, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw you walking in front of the hearse and stopping all the traffic. So smart, grand and professional. I thought you stayed in the office and sorted all the arrangements and paper work out. It’s so nice to have the same friendly person all the way through. You truly are amazing. You went above and beyond.
The Test Valley crematorium is a lovely peaceful venue with green fields all around.
The whole service was so personal and professional we could not have been in better hands. Nothing was too much trouble.
It was so nice to see Evie with my dad’s ashes on the day when we laid him to rest. She really put herself out so he could rest peacefully on his birthday.
Thank you so much to all of you for looking after us and making things easier at such a difficult times.
Many thanks Michaela and family

Steels were excellent, providing very considered and caring support in arranging my mother's funeral. The Chesil House building and gardens are a beautiful setting for hosting a service. Phil Hutching facilitated arrangements keeping our family informed throughout. I highly recommend Steels. Thank you.

Throughout all my dealings with Richard Steel & Partners, originally in June 2021 when my mother passed away, and more recently in November when my father passed away I have received nothing but the utmost support and courtesy from anyone that has picked up the phone or replied to my emails. They are a team the company must be very proud of, it is not often these days to find a company that offers such a personal service where nothing appears to be too much trouble.

It goes without saying that I would have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone. I was especially grateful for their professionalism and sympathetic support on Monday whilst taking part in my father's funeral in a woodland burial site, the weather was wet and windy but at no time was anyone rushed or or hurried.

Locally their reputation is known to be exemplary, I did not consider any other company and I am pleased I didn't, as they offered me great peace of mind knowing I was in such good hands.
