Demetriou & English Funeral Directors Ltd

My family and I would like to thank everyone at Demetriou and English for their excellent service for my mum's funeral. Their manner was very professional. From the first appointment they were caring, patient, kind and did not make me feel that this was just another funeral. They were empathetic for my loss, allowing me time to discuss what was needed to be done. There was no pressure to purchase anything I didn't want or need and everything was explained, which made me feel less stressful and a little easier to bear losing my mum. On the day of the funeral without Demetriou and English's help, knowledge and support, my family and I would have fallen apart, instead it was a day full of memories, tears, laughter and love. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

I was so impressed with how sympathetic, helpful, polite and professional the staff were. At a time when we were grieving very deeply, having such lovely directors certainly soothed some of the pain. All the time I spent worrying about whether everything would go well was totally wasted, as I needn't have worried about a single thing. The funeral went very smoothly from start to finish, and everything was done so well. Thank you very much for such a wonderful service - I know my dad would have loved it.

An enormous thank you to Peter and the team for the funeral of both my parents. It only seems like yesterday that we lay my brother to rest in 1999. Time flies. My existing older brother dealt with the finer details because I was too upset to face it (if you have ever cared for your parents and lived for them you will know my pain) but everything was handled very professionally. The flowers and casket for my mother were more beautiful than I remembered and the pall bearers and driver were very polite and attentive. It was a sunny day when we lay my mother to rest. The saddest day of our lives. My father passed three months later and we stuck to a similar pattern to make it easier for all of us. He was buried on a rainy, sunny day just like his personality in life! There is a reason why Demetriou and English are the funeral directors to the Cypriot community. I cannot thank Peter, and everyone at Demetriou and English enough.

On behalf of our father, Chrisostomos and all of us, his family, we would like to pass on our thanks and gratitude to Demetriou and English, in particular, Peter, Chris and Costas for their unwavering professionalism on the day of our much loved Father’s funeral and wanted you to know each of us is truly thankful and grateful for your support!

To lose a parent is one of the most difficult times in your life and our father always taught us all to treat people the right way and how you expect to be treated yourself and to show your appreciation.

Peter and his team helped our family through this painful time with utter professionalism, courtesy and respect. They helped our family put our beloved mum to rest whilst looking after her, guiding us and supporting us. Amazing in every sense given the sad circumstances. Thank you!

On reflection, albeit this was during the Covid lockdown, I was unimpressed with one aspect of the handling of my mother's funeral, namely one of the undertakers was shabbily dressed, and did not show the correct decorum or respect at the burial site. Now that we are in the unhappy situation of needing directors again, I'm disinclined here.

This is a big thank you from the Stylianou family for the proffessionalism and thoughtfulness of the team throughout our difficult time. The whole service was dealt with perfectly even though we had snow and ice to deal with. Thank you again from Andy Stylianou and family.

Demetriou & English just carried out my father’s funeral and I just wanted to say a massive, massive thank you.

They were professional, courteous, respectful, very understanding and they took control of the whole situation and guided us all the way.

From the moment I picked up the phone right up to the cemetery, they absolutely dealt with everything. All they required was the Church, the Cemetery and Cemetery plot number and they did the rest.

I cannot fault them in anyway, shape or form. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

So once again thank you so much Demetriou & English for being so amazing and phenomenal for making this very difficult day run smoothly even during COVID.
