I ordered a sofa, which arrived very late and when it did arrive, I noticed many problems with it, for instance:
1) Wrong corner despite confirmation
2) Flawed material and imperfections
3) Hole in storage area of the sofa
4) Missing parts (e.g., legs)
5) Bad quality of legs
6) Differences from description online
7) Gaps in the sofa as well as differences in level
8) Uneven areas
I informed the company straight away over phone, message, email and Facebook. However, it took ages until I got a reply, upon which I was met with extremely rude customer service on the phone. The phone asssistant blamed me for the faults, spoke rudely to me, and said that (as it was close to Christmas), it would take time before they could arrange a return as, in his words, "it is Christmas for everyone, not just you". When I finally managed to arrange a pick up for Christmas Eve, the delivery company did not show up and did not give any notice, meaning I wasted Christmas Eve waiting for a pick up that never came. After this, neither the sofa company (Discounts Land) nor the delivery company picked up the phone or responded to any emails, until many weeks after, and only when I informed them that they I have taken the matter further (contacting Consumer Rights).
Only after receiving an email saying that I would take the matter further did the company arrange another pick up date weeks later (yet still with no response to my email). However, an hour before the delivery company was supposed to collect, they said that we needed to pack the sofa. After packing the sofa on such short notice, they arrived and said that it is not sufficient packing and left again without picking it up. This caused another few weeks delay. We have had no contact with the sofa delivery throughout this whole time and no response to any emails.
Finally when the sofa was picked up, it took weeks to get a refund, and the refund is £55 short, because "we have to pay for pick-up and delivery fee", even though it was not our fault that the sofa did not show up and that the delivery company failed to collect twice. Still no email response from Discounts Land.
Overall, horrible and very rude service, bad products, and an overall poor experience. Would give zero stars if I could and I still intend to take this matter further to claim compensation.
Really shocking service and should receive nil stars.
Is the last business that I will ever do with them.
