"ROUGEMONT GARDENS". With history dating back to 1066, the date of the original 'gatehouse', with the "ROMAN WALL"...... The 'castle moat' has been drained, making way for 'specimen trees' of varying ages, which capture the ambient light of sunsets. With " EXETER LIBRARY" nearby, you might be offered the chance to gaze at the beautiful trees from the large balcony, whilst reading "SHAKESPEARE"......... Recordable history marks an event of trail and execution, to end acts of persecution, hatred toward others......"QUEEN ELIZABETH II" is also commerated nearby......If "MATHEMATICS" is your forte then you can take up extra tuition at the historic school.....And of course, you can walk along the paths which take the course of "ROMAN WALLS", to view the many other 'architectural wonders' of.......... "EXETER CITY", which even has modern housing for " SWIFTS" that fly 6,000 miles to be here, every summer....See if you can find "THE SWIFT VILLAGE", without asking anyone?......(an outstanding modern project to help wildlife in the 21st urban century)........" THE HISTORIC ROUGEMONT GARDENS", adjacent to the 400 year old "NORTHENHAY GARDENS".........

An oasis of tranquility in a beautiful thriving historic city, take a bite to eat, then meander through medieval thoroughfares, and enjoy the many statues and their history. These gardens were the first public gardens in Britain, for ALL the people, not just the privalaged few, how lovely is that.

Nice park with beautiful trees and section of Exeter Castle walls. Rear access to Exeter Museum.

Small gardens which would be great if better maintained! Mainly the borders that have been let go but they do have interesting and attractive plants.
