Brown Hart Gardens

Just a few minutes away from the hectic Oxford Street you can find this beautiful terrace garden on top of an electricity substation. In the beginning of the 20th century a park was lost in order to build the substation. Residents complaint and to compensate this garden was built on top of the substation.

A peaceful suntrap and hidden gem - these elevated gardens are the perfect place to take a break away from the mania on nearby Oxford Street.

I love this small park which is hidden from Oxford street buzz, it’s pretty popular though still calm to have a rest or enjoy your book, coffee or lunch.

At the time I visited, it was a quiet spot to stop, have something to eat and watch the world go by. I can imagine this location could get quite busy, as there is plenty of seating and it is attractively presented. It is easy to miss this garden, as from street level, it is not easy to spot. Take care with the stairs, though, as they are quite steep. There appears to be an elevator but I didn't use it, so can't confirm its operation.

Overall a nice location to spend some time.

A quiet lunch break spot between the hustle and bustle of shopping in nearby Bond Street or working nearby. Perfect lunch spot. Probably very busy during the summer

Awesome quiet retreat just off Oxford street. Nice clean benches with flower beds. Very cool art installation celebrating social interactions post lockdown in a fun playground style.

New cafe does excellent coffee, and the peaceful location just steps from the hustle make it an excellent escape. Definitely will be returning.

Yuri Suzuki's sculpture is icing on the cake. Plenty of space for kids to run around a bit in safety.
