The photos just don't do this place any justice. The well established gardens are so beautifully maintained and there's so much insect life around it was so wonderful taking my small children to explore all the ruins and, what felt like, secret paths. It's easy to get lost wandering through the garden paths and if you're not in a rush, stop and have a sit at one of the many benches available.
The toilets are very clean and the tea room was also very clean and very well priced.

I would like to know a few things that came to mind whilst walki g around:
if there are any garden game tournaments at the grounds? Or if we could bring our own garden games?
Are picnics allowed, we didn't see any picnics whilst we were walking through, although it was later in the afternoon that we went...
Is the funds generated only for the gardens or does the house benefit at all from the entrance fee?

A really lovely afternoon out with the whole family.

Beautiful gardens with lots of plants and flowers but very small for the £9 pp. It took me half an hour to walk around and breifly look at the gardens but there were plenty of places to stop and sit down. Unfortunately no picnics allowed or food brought in from outside, although they have a good tea room.

A lovely place to visit, you really need to visit at different times of the year to truly get the most out of the massive array of plants, trees etc in bloom. Took a good 2 1/2. - 3hrs to wonder round the many pathways that snake and intertwine around the grounds. Cafe is quite small but plenty of outside seating. Quite expensive in the café, but the food was quick and very tasty. The ladies in the café were friendly, helpful and polite. Parking is free which is good. Definitely worth the visit.

Wow! I was so impressed with this gardens, there is such a lovely mixture of different planting schemes along with a terrific variety of Magnolias and lot's of other structural plants. For a relatively small garden there is so much to see. Overall the garden was really well maintained and has a lovely tea room with some delicious homemade cakes! There's also a large free carpark. Spring time is a great time to visit.

A lovely garden packed with beautiful trees and plants. We loved being able to take our time wandering around and sitting enjoying the peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings. Lovely tea room to top it off!! Definitely worth a visit for garden lovers and a great place to go if you just need some relaxing down time.

What a lovely hidden gem to visit on a hot sunny day.

Beautifully maintained garden with lots of different plants and trees.

The garden is not very big. Allow yourself around 45 minutes to an hour to walk slowly through all their trails.

Lots of benches scattered around to relax and enjoy this paradise on earth.

No picnics are allowed I am afraid, but you can enjoy tasty snacks, homemade cakes, light lunches and hot and cold drinks at their cafe.
No cash also. Card payments only

Entry to the garden is reasonably priced.

The car park is free of charge.
