Beautiful gardens with lots to explore. I don’t think there are bathrooms so make sure you don’t go on a full bladder.

Beautiful garden in a lovely setting, with the hydrangeas definitely the stars of the show at the moment despite all the rain. Lots of other areas and plants of interest and beauty though. The purple border was stunning and a wide variety of grasses looking great. Shame about the weather which made some of the grassy areas muddy and slippy but definitely a garden to visit more than once.

Absolutely stunning gardens. We went earlier in the year so there wasn't much happening. Looking forward to Summer and Autumn when there's a little more colour.

Gresgarth was recommended by our neighbour, who is a garden designer so Jo, my French wife and gardening fanatic, and I set off on our old motorcycle to visit.

Gresgarth Hall has seriously beautiful gardens and is an amazing setting. We could have spent all day pottering round its riverside and woodland walks and admiring the kitchen gardens.

I'm told its worth visiting in all seasons, so we'll definitely go back. Just note it only opens to the public on one Sunday per month and you can fund details on its website. They kindly provide a mobile café at the entrance which was very welcome.

Highly recommended!

This was the most wonderful garden. Around every corner was another lovely view. Especially impressive was the vegetable garden with huge pears on beautifully trained “trees” But really it would be impossible to decide on a favourite area there were so many, many things that I loved! 😍

A wonderful, ever changing garden. Well worth a visit when open to see the developing and changing landscape.
Always a friendly welcome.
