I've been coming back and fourth to Morriston hospital for a month now due to my son burning himself . The Staff member have been nothing but amazing towards us. My son is 1years old and they do everything they can to make him feel comfortable. When either myself or my partner got upset staff members were compassionate and reassuring. Nurses were all friendly and helpful and all staff involved with my son are great! I couldn't have asked for a better team of people to take care of my son.

I cannot praise the staff at Morriston (SDMU and Ward V especially) enough. I was admitted and was in great pain and distress, but the staff made me feel cared for in every way. On Ward V, I was treated like royalty, nothing was too much trouble - from the Domestic staff to the Consultant, everyone was kind, gracious, knowledgeable and good humoured, despite their enormous work load. I have nothing but immense gratitude for these dedicated professionals and hope they get the pay rise they so richly deserve , but have been deprived of by a government who appear to think that clapping on a Thursday pays the bills! My heartfelt thanks to you all. ❤

Speak as I find .the staff all staff that I came into contact with in my brief stay in MGH with acute asthma attack were very proffesion and approachable.
My only criticism is the very big problem with the ambulance service on a999 call Life and death situations we are informed there is a up to 7,hrs waiting
What are people who cannot get to a/e are they to just die

My mother admitted to a Covid designated ward although she was Covid clear. Did not inform her or family this was the case.

Hospital initially refused access to her but also reluctant to inform us of her true condition. Not only did the Hospital refuse visits but also moaned when we telephoned to enquire/discuss her condition. We did manage to Skype her though thanks to voluntary service.

During her final days we managed to obtain limited visiting ( two at a time) My wife and self remained with her during her last three days. But ! There were no catering facilities of refreshments available outside of the Costa cafe opening hours.
At 3..00am on a gloomy January morning we often found ourselves sitting under a drafty tarpaulin cover temporarily erected on a wet tarmac roadway between Smiths shop and the hospital building.
The seating was basic some broken dirty chairs as were the tables. Public Toilets were dirty and in one case unusable.
Very surprising in view of the fact Covid was prevalent.
All third world stuff.
Outside the main entrance a few hundred discarded masks and cigarette butts decorated the approach.
Despite the Covid regs. In force we noted many staff were going in and out of the hospital in uniform. Many were nipping to an outside pub for refreshments in their lunch breaks complaining the staff restaurant was closed.
On the Friday night we heard staff saying ambulances were banked up outside the hospital with patient and a waiting time of five hours. Apparently only one ambulance was covering the whole of Swansea.
One simple reason I would be afraid to live in Swansea as I grow older is this hospital.
Management/Communication appears non existent, transparency and care for visitors the same.
There are extremely good and caring staff at the chalk face but the rest of it is inefficient, complacent and of the last century. Wales NHS requires a good overhaul from top to bottom. It has been instrumental in creating unnecessary suffering, humiliation and fund wastage on a large scale. I can say this because I have the proof and several experiences too, with wales NHS. This treatment at Morriston hospital was not an isolated case.

I came in at 4pm via an ambulance, following a fall down a flight of stairs, loss of consciousness and seizure. I have been waiting in the ER waiting room for 16hours, and still counting. My health has been slowly declining throughout this time. I have told this to all of the nurses. I have been dizzy and nauseous and asked for updates every hour, each time they tell me there are just a few people in front of me. They tell me I need to stay to get a CT scan but have not told me how long is the longest I will wait and have left me to my own devices in the waiting room. In 16hours they have given my partner and I a sandwich and a cup of tea. They will not even give me a letter to say I arrived by ambulance to satisfy my travel insurance. They keep saying to keep waiting. It has been 16hours, the sun has set and come back up again and I am feeling much sicker than when I arrived. I wish I had never come here. My head injury was 21 hours ago and there has still been no doctor to see me or even a nurse to tell me how to manage my symptoms. People are going to die in this waiting room.

If your hospital does not allow treatment of head injuries within 24hours of the event and instead puts them in an overcrowded waiting room then you should NOT be accepting them. Self monitoring at home would have led to a better health outcome at this point.

This will ultimately be my deciding factor to never again return to the UK.
You need to fix this!

When I was seen by doctors the staff were excellent at explaining and follow up treatment was outstanding. I can’t fault it. However, I was waiting for so long. Altogether I spent 20 hours in a chair in A and E. It’s not the doctors fault, the place needs more staff, more money. I honestly feel nervous at how overrun the nhs is. It’s going to all come to a negative end. And that is sad. Doctors were fantastic. Waiting times verging on inhuman.

Was asked to “take a seat” and eventually waited over 2 hours for my sister to be seen after a severe reaction to her air-born peanut allergy. Don’t know how a 14 year old not being able to breathe and walk wasn’t enough for them to take quicker / better action. Would give negative rating if I could.

My 93 year old father was admitted 1 week ago with fractured pubic rami and fractured head of fibula . Tracey greeted us at reception who kindly asked to go around to minor injuries . The department was unbelievably busy 14 +ambulances outside and staff incredibly running around .
We were seen in minor injuries and assessed by A wonderful caring nurse who sent us to X-ray . Again another nurse Julie was so kind and assessed my dads needs . Sian the A and E occupational therapist ( truly amazing individual too )came to assess my dad and was unsafe to come home . He stayed for 3 nights in the OPAS ward . They were truly incredible there also where he had time with the physio . What a fantastic and much needed service . He was discharged home . Unfortunately he developed a chest infection the day after and was re admitted via A and E again . The paramedics were more than excellent and was seen in resus by the Registrar Dr Kieran ( sorry about the spelling)who was so kind to my dad and explained everything ( same humour as my dad which made his stay more comfortable) The attention and care that my dad received in this truly amazing department was excellent. The staff here work under extreme incredible pressures . Please look after them .
