I am sorry to say that this morning's experience was not acceptable at all. I called just after 8am as that is what you are told to do when you need to see a doctor face to face in an unexpected emergency.
The receptionist was lovely and she said someone would call me back as she is not allowed to make appointments! I explained that I have a battery problem with my mobile phone and that it would die soon so gave her my home number which she said she would pass to the doctor which she assured me would definitely call me this morning. Then around 10 minutes later, luckily the mobile was still working, I received a text message from a doctor telling me if I was worried about my possible broken toe then I must go to A&E at the hospital! This was unbelievable as I know for a fact ( from the paramedics that visit where I live) that they are over-run at the hospital with ambulances waiting as much as 12 hours to even take the patients in to the hospital! The hospitals are advising not to go there unless it is a real emergency but the GPs won't see you - this is madness! What on Earth has happened to our system?! As I was reading the text message my phone died before I even read the whole message so I could have been waiting in all day for a phone call that was never even going to be made... by the way, I hardly ever go to the doctors so I feel when I do need them at least they could give me 10 minutes of their time! I rarely write reviews but this today was shocking and now I see there are many bad reviews about this surgery.

Absolutely awful service. It has slowly declined over the last 6 years, to a point where I have now left the surgery. The Doctors I saw were all inexperienced and young (mostly working part-time) with little empathy for others. They were just interested in moving on to the next customer and racing against the clock. The service was slow and flawed.

St catherines have gone done hill since all the long term doctors have left. The procedures and the Web site is awful. I am being sent messages with untrue information, my bloods have been lost twice this week! My husbands information was put onto my records.. I think I have had at least 6 apologies this week from reception . Reception offers a poor service. Training is needed,my husband visited the surgery this week with much pain from being given new medication, they wouldn't help him he was told to go home and someone would call him . He waited at home all day. No call came. He called the surgery and they had forgotten to put him on call back list! No one takes responsibility they blame someone or something else. I used to be proud I was a patient, but now I dread having to deal with them. Bring back all the orginal staff !

First rate, receptionists and health professionals friendly and helpful. I was notify them of the problem and upload photos and received an appointment quickly and had the matter dealt with promptly. Well done

I think the staff in the reception don't know what there doing half the time I filled in the online form for a call back I received a text message telling me the call would be in1 weeks time called the surgery again after waiting another 45 minutes and was told that someone will call me back that day that was Friday 13th January no call I called back on the 18th January and they would do nothing about it. I think it's time for all of them to look for another job waste of tim

This surgery doesn’t even deserve a half star. They never have doctors or nurses appointments. Their receptionist staff are old and they have no communication or computer skills. If you’re looking for a GP Stay away from this st Catherine Don’t waste your time on this because you will never get to see a doctor.

Finding it close to impossible now to even speak to a dr even on the phone anymore as you have to constantly fill out a triage form that seems to be resd by reception but not a chosen gp and whwn you request "Call Back" it does not happen every single time you phone even if it's to update on a condition you've already had to phone in multiple times
PLEASE go back to the easier way of letting patients speak to the gps and book f2f appointments
It's making the system really poor and is letting what used to be a really good surgery down so much 😔
