Mayfield Grammar School

This is one of the shools on my sisters options. The school looked very good they do a range of subjects that were fun and im sure my sister will learn a lot if she goes there. The people there were kind and it was good to see some of my friends there helping out the different subjects showing they are passionate about the school and like it there. The headteacher did a very good speech on what it would be like there and it was nice hearing different student experiences of their time in the school

I mean this school doesn’t even deserve one star it’s deserves 0 and less. My friend got pasta from the canteen and found a clump of hair in it. Can the dinner ladies not wear hair nets? Every single desk has chewing gum under it and not even a few pieces, but a whole load. In other words the schools disgraceful and unhygienic, the only thing good about it is the studies

Wow. The only thing I possibly like about this school is the educational matters. Everything else is just upright disgraceful! There was a dead rat in the canteen?! There’s hair in my food which I get from the canteen?! And the place feels and looks like a prison! There’s a load of chewing gum underneath every single desk there! And someone told me that there was a rat running around in a classroom and it had jumped into a hole in the wall. When teachers were notified about this incident all they did was tape up the wall, leaving the rat running around in the walls

Been at this school since Sept 2019 and I can honestly say the school does not deserve even 1 star. I was being severely bullied last year and the school did not do a thing to help it and instead painted me as the bully. The staff can be extremely rude and unfair but I cannot fault their teaching methods. The school is unhygienic but their COVID-19 measures are quite good. I am overall not impressed with the school nor am I happy there.

I’ve just been offered this school and will be joining them in September, it’s hard for a tomboy like myself to be put in a skirt and constantly be around girls however I have been reassured for other girls from my class that I get along with are go Mayfield grammar as well

Ive been at this school for almost 2 years and so far I can say that its just like any other school. So i would recommend for anyone coming, however, they need to work on their hygiene especially in the canteen and their behaviour towards students (not directed to all) some teachers are amazing though… (BUSAYO IS BACK i wrote this over 2 years ago btw) been at this school for over 3 years now and WOW… please be cautious when you come to this school 😬 ( i think i’m gonna remove a few stars)

Not a great school. Many racial problems in my time there that were left unresolved and extremely biased. It was definitely a rough experience being a black girl in a grammar school. Would not recommend to be honest. Some cool teachers but I hated school it had a horrible atmosphere and I am so glad to be at a university that I enjoy. They sucked the joy out of education and I'm sure many other girls will agree.
