St Barnabas Church

Nice church with friendly priests. I've been going here since I was a child!

Loved going to school there as a child. Felt like a second home, warm and welcoming!

The church is nice too go for your wedding.

It's a very beautiful and small church. And it has great people that runs it.

Sunday morning, three hour service, one hour after it starts the church is a third full, two hours after it starts the church about 3/4 full as people come with their kids for final hour. People are mostly smartly dressed but some wear jeans. The service mostly in Greek but partly English. The church is fairly small perhaps 10 rows of benches and doors at the front and fire exits at the back. The ceiling isn't decorated. There are candle sellers and icon pictures at the back. The bearded priest speaks with calm and humility. Each side near the front are a couple of men doing lots of singing. Communion given with a spoon near the end. The walls have pictures on. After the service there is a side entrance to a basement community centre or church hall where people help themselves to coffee . There are several circular tables. At the end of the service people can take pieces of bread from a basket.

Attended this wonderful little church with my family when I was a young boy.
Don't follow Google maps to get to this church as GM takes you to St Mary's cathedral on Trinity Road which is blocked and there is no access, instead come on to Trinity road via Bounds Green road which will then lead you to Finsbury Road where St Barnabas church is situated.
