This store has recently, November 2016, had a full internal refurbishment. Internally it has been completely reconfigured and there appears to be more isles with more products. It's a better layout with better lighting.
Included in the refurbishment though was a Subway branch. This unfortunately fills the whole store with the smell of their sandwiches.

The subway is terrible. most of the time they have ran out of ingredients; today i paid for nachos and ended up with cheese on doritos. the staff are terrible, they panic when asking for salad and try to use the smallest amount of toppings as possible - worst subway i've been to. However the co-op staff are lovely, very helpful and always smiling.

Worst customer service I have ever had. Understaffed and two women who work behind the counter always seem to be talking to eachother about what they did the day before than talking to customers. Asked for ID buying batteries. I'm 21. The age you need to buy batteries is 12. Glad I'm not going there again. Tempted to complain directly however the manager is just as bad!

Seldom enough staff on the tills. Avoid like the plague at lunch time! Staff really bad at calling for support when it gets busy. Situation is aggravated by customers buying lottery tickets, and the unbelievable time it takes staff to move some of the customers on. Too many of them are happy to carry on chatting while other customers stand in a long line that often stretches back out of sight. SUBWAY is excellent. Really good, hard working staff, lovely coffee, too.

I am not sure what type of customers Co-op's stock is aimed at, and I see this problem with every single Co-op in Norwich. They don't have a nice selection of food and if you're going in to buy something let's say for dinner this shop will not inspire you at all, you might have to leave empty handed and head to the little Tesco Express just down the road instead.
Also, the checkout staff chatting to each other while serving customers is absolutely unacceptable.
The good thing about this shop is the post office inside.

On five mornings in the last two weeks I've gone in to get a coffee and the machine has been out of milk each time. It takes them 15 minutes to sort it. I was told they don't usually do it until 9am which they said doesn't make sense as people come in on their way to work between 8am and 9am. Why not do it at 8am then?!

Also this store was far better when it had a salad bar and deli, plus a selection of fresh breads and pastries (the pain-au-chocolats were great), instead of the drab unhealthy chain takeaway they now have inside.

I wish I could give it zero stars. Firstly I had to wait over 10 minutes to get served and they had no one managing the tills for the entire time I was shopping. Then after waiting a very unprofessional lady came and asked me what I'd like as I was waiting at the post office section of the tills. She was clearly angry prior to our interaction. Then she went to collect my package which took another 20 minutes (I have no idea what she was doing). She came back and said she could not give me my package but as you know the sign above states that you can collect packages. I asked for a reason and she repeated it as if I was incompetent. Next she said she couldnt give it to me despite seeing it because it was too large? My package was just under the size of a loaf of bread so obviously this was incorrect. She then stated that it had been processed but she just wasnt going to give it to me but followed this by saying it had not been processed despite the fact I was emailed saying that it was. She would not take responsibility and said it was the transporters fault which is not true as she had seen it. She kept repeating even though I had the official documents. I spoke to another woman who claimed it might not have been processed even thought I was told it had been by the royal mail and the other woman. Now coming back the next day wouldn't be a problem if I hadn't already been due this package almost a week before and finally one half arrived monday and they claimed they didn't have the other half even though the packages come together by a professional company (WWF). Anyway with the woman saying she couldnt give it to me I should have realised that this was a breach of security and also blaming the customer is unacceptable not to mention how unprofessional and passive aggressive she was. I will be calling up and hopefully she will have consequences of her unprofessional and likely hateful behaviour.

I was in the shop a few days ago and I was Disgusted by on of the customers being rude to the staff who were working there.
But the staff handled it so well.
Such as the ladys working there
You should praise them more.
