I visited this place on 1st Aug 2017. It puzzles me how/why people are rating this butchers high. My first and last experience is as follows:

1. I pre-ordered to only be told once I got there they didn’t have the item I wanted in stock, so it was effectively a wasted 45 minute trip (I asked for Lamb and was told they only had Mutton).

2. They mix their meats. I asked for chicken and I think I got Turkey meat in there too, and was told it was a “large chicken”. It looked different (darker) and once cooked you can see from my pictures it was not chicken.

3. Listening skills. I asked for small pieces 3 times, and the butcher thought I said “four” pieces, and once I corrected him he was moody- no apology.

4. The way the chicken was cut was simply wrong. Bones were crushed, so fragments were inside the meat itself which is highly unusual as you can’t easily wash it out.

5. The young kid was friendly and bought the bags to my parked car after a £145 spend. He had forgotten to bring / tell me about the bag of onions I left behind.

It angers me that shows like this exist. They rely on ethnic people to come visit because its “halal” probably thinking they can get away with it because there is no other Halal place nearby. Am I being too harsh? See the pictures of the supposed Chicken and judge for yourself.

I ended up throwing away all of the meat I purchased which was around £100. I think a visit by trading standards will quickly shut them down.

Absolutely fantastic! The service at the shop is spot on, the products are always fresh and set at a fair price. A big thank you to Jahangir Hussain who is always happy to help and never forgets to smile as soon as you walk through the door, making it a place you never wish to leave!

Great store .It has a lot of West African food products

This shop have many things I need for a weekly shop. Fantastic butchery section selling chicken breast, whole chicken, drumsticks, chicken thighs, chicken wing, leg of lamb, lamb chunks, lamb mince, all selections of steaks ribeye, t-bone,sirloin my favourite.😍, the list go on and on too much to list. I don’t need to go anywhere else. Better than Tesco.
The people who work there are friendly, polite and helpful especially Emran, Rumman, Jange and Rayhan, Manu, Dibi and Radha. they are Always attentive to my all needs. They don’t build people like these anymore.
They also cater for Indian/African/ Chinese food too.
The prices of items are very reasonable and very well balanced and you also find bargain prices item too. E.g garlic paste 1kg only £2.99. (sapna)
Car parking facilities is also available. Making life simple.
They go the extra mile . There are not many who do this anymore but here it comes as standard.
They are located on Histon Rd opposite the esso petrol station.
In a nutshell 11 out of 10.

First time visiting this shop today, very impressed with the variety and choices ! Will definitely be coming back.

Update February 2022. This store has expanded massively. It now is comparable to the east end of London Asian shops in terms of variety. Very nice ambience. And now plenty of fresh veg!!

Great to have a South Asian store this side of Cambridge. Well-stocked and friendly. They also deliver to Cambridge for £5. To Cottenham for £7.50. Fresh veg is limited (the shop is smallish) but frozen fish and the meat counter are good

Lots of international products and choices. A recent refurbishment has happening since my last visit to the store. The buchery is now at the far end and even bigger. The work is ongoing and I am sure in months to come it will be more organised and quicker service. I will definitely visit again because the service was good workers were engaging and I was able to get all I wanted
