M&S Simply Food

I have been visiting the Royston Simply Food pretty much weekly for the past few months and have always been impressed with the selection available and the service received.
Today I had other matters to attend to and decided to use the Cambridge Beehive M&S as I was nearby.

The difference is somewhat dramatic!

After filling a trolley it transpired that there were no tills open, whilst scanning all my own shopping it was apparent that many others had met this fate.
The staff were trying their hardest to appease everyone but ultimately this store is an absolute disaster!

I would go so far as to suggest this location is brand damaging.

My family and I were racially profiled by an old female member of staff. When asking for help at the self service machine we were mistreated. We wanted to pay one part of our shopping in cash and the rest in card, once she heard this her expression was incredibly hostile (even more than during our first interaction) and she made sure to not move her eyes away from us until we left the place.

This Store does not have everything

Some of the items are not available. This chicken and chorizo soup, which is popular, is not available in the whole Cambridge.

Failed to get the family size chocolate ice cream too.

I guess because it's a relatively small supermarket.

Hopefully the store will get more variety of goods like the other stores do.

The staff are okay. The cafe is a good place to sit.

Everything is in correct shelves. Clean and tidy environment. The staff did a good job in looking after the store.

What a great m and s food hall. Wide range if items. All different price ranges. From essential to finest. Good quality fresh bread and bakery treats with veggies and fresh food. There is a cafe in here too. Also a few sections if clothes too

Disappointed to have been told on the phone that staff are unable to check stock or reserve items. My daughter wanted to buy a birthday cake and this service would have saved her a journey when she is really busy as.a primary school teacher. Poor customer service (from an M&S shareholder)

Really really not a pleasant place to shop. A customer assistant in his 20s and larger didn’t know what the items we were looking for very dopey and ill educated. Didn’t know his eyes from his ears. Can’t remember his name but you have zero hope getting help from him.

Always shop here for avocados. Good price and food quality, most of the time. If the quality is poor, they will refund.
