Got very expensive when Sainsbury’s opened but they don’t warrant this as they are a supermarket and not a convenience store.
When I find something I really like, you can guarantee you will never see it again!
Need more staff to actually serve you. Not everyone likes self service checkouts, especially if you need cigarettes as I do!

Wide range of food and household items of reasonable quality and price. Friendly staff, ethical approach. The self service tills have had a recent upgrade and are slightly less annoying (Do I really need to be told for the millionth time by an overly perky voice to please place the item in the basket?) But I preferred the old layout when they had an entrance and an exit, and when there was more banter between the staff on the old tills. The Co-op also needs to guard against a tendency to sell shinily packaged junk food that you see in garages - keep your standards up please and I will continue to be a regular customer.

Good range of products but typically overpriced. Similar quality items can be found much cheaper elsewhere.

Convenient position close to the university campus. Clean and modern store.

The Staff are always very helpful and friendly. Self service tills used to be a problem but are better now with similar problems to self service check outs in other stores.

I find shopping here very friendly and helpful. For about five weeks however I have been unable to buy their plant based Katsu curry. No one seems to know why it hasn't been delivered. I have checked online and the Co-op still stock it. As eating less meat was one of the Governments policies for protecting our planet I am shocked because I always noticed it flew off the shelves. Please coop look after us vegans as well as meat eaters. Thank you.

Seriously awful compared to the other shops

Extremely environmentally unfriendly as their machines always print receipts and there are constantly receipts all over the self-service tills and floor. Still packs forks into their meal deals instead of making them optional to pick up like the other stores which is more environmentally friendly if you don't need one.
Their membership card, which you need to pay to get, doesn't work on self-service or at the staff tills, and I've heard the same experience from everyone else I know who's shopped at a Co-Op.
Generally has higher prices than the Sainsbury's up the road and the Tesco at the train station.
Has sold me incomplete items more than once (eg. battered fish in boxes that says there's 2 but there was only 1).

Shop at the local Sainsbury's when you can.

Great service. They can’t sell alcohol before 8AM. The clerk said it was law. It turns out it’s just licensing.

Good shop, but No-one ever Manning the self service tills, not unusual for all tills to be blinking red for ages.
