Taj Grocers

Really great Indian store with a variety of spices, fruit and veg. Also stocks Chinese/Asian sauces, Italian pastas and polish foods. There is also a halal butcher towards the back. They have a smaller frozen food section but I think a lot of that you can get in Tesco or Asda now. I will definitely come back for the spices and speciality fruit and veg.

The billing counter every time enters the wrong amount and if we mention about it they will say they dint change the amount at the place counter.. we got like this 2 times and they always do that …. Before we will not check the bill as we trust them .. now it’s really very important to check the bill and in the bill they are not mentioning the product name so we are getting confused .

Please dont buy anything from this shop. They are a big fraud company online and they loot peoples hard earned money. After ordering online they don’t deliver your order, nobody picks up the calls, no replies to emails or online chats.
Please please avoid guys!!

It’s alright as there are only limited Indian grocery stores near Gatwick.

Great food shop for Afro Caribbean, Asian, Chinese, Indian, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, Mexican, Oriental cuisines.
The store is well maintained, clean and good hygiene.
The meat counter is well prepared & presented. I’ve been very pleased with the quality of the meats and great prices.
Great selection of fruit & vegetables, spices, breads, dry goods, tinned products, frozen, food cupboards ingredients.
Great prices throughout the store.

I visited the shop on 16/01/22 specifically buy Shito, (hot chilli sauce). I saw they had a new brand of Ghana's Best so I thought I'd give it a try. This was a bigger jar, different labelling to the other small jars. I tried some with my dinner that evening but unfortunately it had gone off. Surprisingly, the item was not on my receipt so I couldn't take it back. I tried calling the store several times to warn them but there was no answer. I even called their branch in Brighton too so they could pass the information on to Crawley, again, several times, no answer.

Now expanded and hosting a very wide range of fruit, spices, meet and fish, pretty much everything for a wide variety of Asian cooking. Overall good prices although the fruit can be a bit steep. But always a nice range and special offers, bulk packs too. Well worth a trip.
