We enjoyed our stay at this very friendly guest house. The breakfast was very good, the rooms were comfortable and very clean. We found the staff very helpful and accommodating and no request was too much trouble. Parking was hit and miss but solved by using the train station parking less than 2 mins away.

The room was lovely. Obviously newly decorated and spotless. The bed was comfy and there was tea, coffee and biscuits in the room. They are still renovating so there is no dining room or lounge, and with no chairs in the room it means there is nowhere in the property to sit, you have to be on the bed, or somewhere else. This is the only reason I have not given the room 5 stars. When we arrived we were greeted by a man who helped carry our bags to the room and was very helpful. That is the only time we saw the hosts though. Even when there was a mix up with my booking (booking.com had only added 1 guest and there were 2 of us) and they needed to charge extra for the 2nd guest, they just took the money and sent me an email to say they had done it. They did not make any effort to come and tell me they were going to do that before taking the payment. Despite the 4 stars, it was still a lovely place to stay and I would come back when the renovation work is finished

Clean, comfortable beds and pillows, tea/coffee/biscuits tray, fridge with water bottles, both replenished daily. Modernised to a great standard, beautiful period features too. Warm, friendly welcome from Janine and Steve.

When we arrived Janine gave us a warm reception. There’s road side parking if there are spaces available otherwise you can park at the train station that's close by. We had the biggest room & i must say it was immaculate. The bed was very comfy & there was a sofa in the room too. There was tea, coffee, biscuits & water daily. The Ivy's location was perfect & within walking distance of the beach, shops & resturants. We really enjoyed our stay & will most definately stay there again.
