First time staying here and it is lovely. Clean, well appointed and stylish room, friendly and welcoming staff and good communication via email and mobile devices. Being able to come and go at any time is invaluable if the weather isn't great. Our stay was easy and hassle free allowing us to enjoy our stay and the town.
I've seen this guest house on previous visits to Aberystwyth and now I've stayed here I've got no hesitation in recommending it.

Brilliant communication. We were able to add another person and the dog last minute. The dog was very happy with the dog treats in the hallway and made sure we stopped each time we went in and out for one! Beautifully presented room with plenty of space. Lovely setting near the sea with a car park opposite. Breakfasts were great and delivered to your door in a basket. It’s all still covid distanced so if that’s something you need this is the place to go. Will definitely return next time we visit Aber.

Nicely furnished rooms. Breakfast brought up to room each morning. Just a few metres from the sea. Staff very helpful. Great place.

Very disappointed that this was a self-service unit. We never saw anyone nor had the opportunity to ask for extra towels or ice. This made for a very cold welcome.
The room is attractive but lacks basic functionality. The bed is quite small, perhaps not even a queen size. The light over the sink did not work and since there were no windows in the bathroom, it was too dark to use to put on makeup. Blow drying my hair was an ordeal since there were no outlets near a mirror. The liquid soap is really going the cheap route since this can't be used to wash your face. The shower was extremely tiny and had a lip that I tripped on when getting out. It also did not have any place to put toiletries.
It was quite warm and the small fan was not adequate to cool off the room.
It was quite unpleasant to have to walk past large bags of dirty laundry piled by the entrance doorway.
In a global society, business owners must take into account that they are receiving guests from other cultures who have certain expectations. To be honest, in this stage of the pandemic, there is no reason that the housekeeping couldn't have been done. We owned a boutique hotel during the height of the pandemic and we were able to provide those services to our guests...not doing it now just looks lazy.
We were not made to feel like valued guests. For the 18 years we owned our business, that was one of the most important impressions we wanted our guests to leave with.

As to the owner's recent response, I find "interesting" that you are blaming your deficiencies on your guests.

To be clear, I never saw anyone, never got any extra towels and the only time my husband saw anyone was after someone knocked on our door & left food outside. He saw someone walking away. The ONLY communication we had with you (and we don't know who you are since you never gave us the courtesy of meeting us) was the paper to fill out for our breakfast order. Perhaps you have us confused with someone else?

I would understand your methods of dealing with your guests if this was 2020 but having gone through that ourselves, we still feel the lack of service now is not indicative of what your government's protocols dictate. We also stayed in London for 2 nights and Bournemouth for 3 nights and had a completely different experience.

Being Welsh, I was excited to experience my Welsh heritage...I have to say that your establishment wasn't the highlight of our trip.

As far as our own business, we took pride in making our guests feel welcome which is something you failed to do.

Judging by your snarky response, I feel you really aren't interested in improving your guests' experience...which in itself...says it all.

No idea why to give more than 2 stars. There was really no service, the ( breakfast ) was just put in front of the door and you have to eat on the bed. Nobody shows up and instead they put cameras on every floor…. Overall really disappointing!!

Thanks for your answer, regarding our tour provider, the room is always booked with breakfast, so the misunderstanding might be on your side. And we were available every morning but the ( breakfast) basket was just placed in front of the door and after knocking we directly open and already nobody there.

I have stayed at Bodalwyn several times now. Not only are the rooms beautifully and individually furnished, but it is perfectly situated from the seafront, which is less than a 30 second walk. The Sea view rooms are my favourite!

Also, be sure to book breakfast for the following morning, it’s delicious.

Myself and husband stayed at this guest house over the weekend.
Just wow! It was absolutely fantastic, the decor was lovely. Very clean and staff very helpful.
Near to the local town and by the local beach!

I loved staying here. We were only there for one night but will definitely use again. The room was absolutely immaculate, and the breakfast in the morning was 5 star. I left something in the room on departure, the owner was happy to post it back. I also had two requests during my stay, both were fulfilled without any problem. I would highly recommend this guest house.
