Dave's lessons are highly entertaining, and his skill with the guitar means that pretty much anything is an option during a lesson; learning or recording your favourite songs, improvisation or even making your own music. Over the past 3 years Dave has helped me become a much better player in every aspect, and I now have much more confidence in my own playing. He's also been a great help in learning how to record and mix music in a band situation. Very talented musician and great teacher.

Dave's lessons are always laid back, enjoyable and productive. Over the years he's helped me massively to develop my technical skills, style and confidence when playing - in addition to letting me use his gear for various recordings. He's an incredibly talented guitarist and is always able to add something useful during song writing and recording.

David is an exceptional teacher who provides a lively and enjoyable experience through his teaching. It is very clear that he has buckets of guitar playing ability and this can be seen with a simple search for his YouTube or Facebook accounts; this ability means that he can pass on guitar-playing knowledge and techniques in a seemingly effortless and relaxed environment. He clearly has a broad interest and understanding of music in general which is exhibited when he advises not just me on my guitar playing, but also the singer, drummer and keyboardist in my band on how to best write and play our own songs.

I have only had Dave for a few lessons so far but he is a great teacher in terms of finding your level and pushing you beyond it. Dave Locke is a friendly and humble teacher who makes you feel comfortable enough to really open up about your needs. However, he also retains that element of professionalism which take you outside your comfort zone and allows you to improve as a player. Whether you play the guitar as a hobby or you have a burning passion to be the best you can be, Dave Locke will adjust to your needs and provide the tutelage that is right for you. I highly recommend him to anyone who plays the guitar (or bass).

Dave is a great teacher. I’ve only had a few lessons with him but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them all. He’s a light hearted and funny man but also a seriously good guitarist and he’s helped me learn many technical skills. He’s allowed me to learn songs I want and tailored them to my level.
Would definitely recommend for any skill level guitarists looking for lessons in the local area.

It’s immediately clear from his online videos and watching him play that Dave is an immensely talented and skilled guitar player, but this is only the surface of what you get from him. In fact, it would be fair to say that I thought the BFG was just a children’s book- until I met Dave.
He is undoubtedly one of the kindest and good natured people I’ve ever met, combining a big heart and patience with a great sense of humour and an amazing ability to put someone at ease no matter the circumstances. This patience and style create a fantastic atmosphere for learning the guitar in - one in which you feel like two friends rather than a customer and teacher.
For these reasons, I would absolutely recommend Dave as a guitar teacher and would encourage as many people as possible to approach him.

I’ve had numerous lessons with Dave at school, and quickly got to know that he’s a very talented guitarist and a very understanding teacher. Always been able to help out with learning songs and solos. Would highly recommend him as a teacher, on a personal and professional level.

I've only been having lessons with Dave for 6 months but I can honestly say that the guitar has been by far the most rewarding and satisfying instrument I have tried to learn and the fastest progression to top it off. The options of what style/particular song/technique are completely open in the lessons and so I've covered a wide range just depending on what kind of thing I like at the time. Dave gets across the important musical technique and helps with anything tricky but always seems to make sure that the main priority is just enjoying playing the song and getting a good sound. Overall great and often humourous lessons.
