After taking a taster session with Iain, I knew that he was a great fit for what I was looking for... friendly, articulate and patient, his teaching style is informative and fun.

I've really started to enjoy the learning experience and look forward to my sessions each week. Iain balances theory with practical techniques so it really feels like you're getting a rounded approach to learning guitar. I highly recommend him.

After moving around a number of different teachers (a very mixed experience!) I found Iain, and have very much enjoyed his tuition. Iain has a real strength at breaking down information, and teaching in an engaging way. He is very willing to work with his student's particular wants and needs, whilst guiding towards supporting theory and knowledge he feels benefits their playing and musical development. I for one was very keen on learning more theory alongside practical skills, and Iain has done a great job at breaking this down and making me comfortable with concepts I have struggled with in the past. To top it off Iain is a really friendly and welcoming guy; I feel like we get on beyond just student/teacher and that is something I value a lot.

Being someone who has moved around a number of teachers and struggled to find one I click with, I very much recommend learning with Iain!

There are a lot of guitar teachers out there so I feel very fortunate to have found Iain, he is giving my guitar playing the foundation that it desperately needed. The lessons are well paced and carefully structured, everything is explained really well and I am now able to get my head round stuff I was struggling with before. I highly recommend him for fun, relaxed and thorough lessons.

He has always been professional and has built a very successful "Rock School Club" as part of our extra curricular program. Iain is a fantastic guitarist and more importantly tutor. He’s very patient and has vastly improved my technique, pointing out the bad habits I’d acquired. Iain sets good homework, is enthusiastic and a joy to jam with.

I've been having lessons with Iain for nearly a year. We've been doing a bit of music theory as well as working on my technique. Firstly, it's simply extremely enjoyable. Ian is very knowledgeable in music theory and history and blues in particular. He is always very well prepared for the lesson and has a game plan. Amazing at picking the right songs for me to practice the concepts we are working on. Also got me into building guitar pedals which is a great hobby to have during the lockdown.
Can't recommend enough!

Iain's lessons have brought my guitar skills on a long way in a short space of time. He has a deep knowledge of music theory which he combines with very practical guidance on technique with the instrument. He's also well set up for giving online lessons. All in all great value for money and highly recommended.
