I booked an appointment for Thursday to have my hair cut coloured and styled by Jo. We discussed the options for my hair prior to my visit and agreed on colouring my roots and highlights. Jo was very perfessional polite and explained what she was doing at each stage. My hair looks and feels great. I would recommend Jo and the Hollywood beauty bar to anyone.

Jo was an amazing stylist, my hair has been transformed from terrible roots due to years of home dyeing, with all different colours. Jo worked miracles and I now have stunning blonde hair through a full head of highlights. Jo knew exactly what I wanted and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jo and the salon. Thank you so much!

Was sent a message from a family member of half head highlights & blow dry offer for this salon for Sat 10th July only and as I’ve had a hard time lately and was going to have my first night in over a year out with my hubby - I called on the Weds and spoke to Jo who booked me in for a 12.30pm appointment for the Sat. At first Jo offered an appointment time of 11.15am to which I asked if there were any later appointments as I had to take my children to their dance classes before accepting the later appointment time. At no point on the call was I asked anything about my hair, colour, length etc., however my name & contact number were taken for a Treatwell confirmation message. I arrived for my appointment on time and as soon as I walked in and sat in the chair, Jo told me that she was unable to highlight or colour my hair that day. This was apparently due to my hair being dark and she would have needed to use a toner on it to get it to a blonde tone, and this apparently needed a patch test, which was required 48 hours prior. This is the first time I’ve ever heard of a patch test for highlights & toner as they are not pigmented but nevertheless, I asked why she hadn’t told me this prior to the appointment as I could have passed by and done this when it was required before the app. She said that most people who come in for highlights have already got them and that’s what she had assumed would be the case! Even if this was to be believed, I wouldn’t have previously done a patch test with this salon and therefore, she still wouldn’t have been covered if this was really legally required. I suspect Jo had her own reasons for not doing my hair that day, whether it was because my hair was too thick and long and it wasn’t financially viable or she had perhaps better things to do. She hadn’t taken into consideration that I had run around to take my three children to my mum’s, who had also changed her plans that day to look after them so I could have my hair done for my long-awaited night out. It feel very unfair to be treated this way when Jo had my number and could have easily contacted me. Instead of freshly coloured and styled hair, I just left smelling of the wet dog that had jumped all over me when I walked in. Instead of any apology at all, Jo quickly changed her offer message on the Nextdoor app to include the statement ‘t&c’s apply’ and deleted my appointment from the Treatwell app so I couldn’t leave a review on there. She did offer to take a clipping of my hair so I could come back another time however I wouldn’t ever go back or recommend anyone here after this shocking treatment.
