Decadence Hair and Makeup

My Mum and I visited this salon with a voucher from Red Letter days to ‘Relax & Unwind for 2’. We were booked in for gel manicures and facials together. I wasn’t relaxed at any singular point throughout our time in the salon. I felt on edge and uncomfortable, wanting to leave. The only reason I didn’t is because my Mum encouraged me not to.

They served my Mum first so I was sat alone for the first 75 minutes whilst she had her nails done. I was constantly told that they would serve me next but she just carried on serving new customers that arrived which was awkward for me. The gel nail machine did not work and was not drying the nails properly so it took even longer. This was my Mum’s first experience with gels and I was so disappointed for her as both of our nails begun coming off in a matter of days. In fact my Mum had completely removed them within 5 days of leaving the salon because they were so bad and they have ruined our natural nails. I had to visit my usual nail salon to have them removed and given attention to.

The facials were okay but not relaxing at all as the room out the back was constantly being used by other workers, even cleaned during the time I was lying there and there was a washing machine going off. I was hoping for a bit of quiet time to relax but I didn’t get that for one moment.

I appreciate that the atmosphere in the salon is very chatty and casual but it felt very unprofessional to me. I didn’t speak to my Mum for more than 2 minutes the whole time we were in there so it was not an experience together. There were people having botox left, right and centre and I saw 2 customers walk past me with blood dropping down their cheeks. There was just so much going on in the (rather small) salon that I felt overwhelmed, especially with the door wide open onto the main road, loud music and constant shouting from staff. It seemed to me that they had taken on too many roles/customers with trying to do lashes, nails, hair, botox and a facial all at one time in the corner of the room. It was just silly.

Although the staff were nice and chatty, they did not meet our needs or provide a good service. I am gutted that we selected this salon for our relaxing voucher together and will certainly not be coming back :(

Absolutely love this salon , the girls are so welcoming and make you feel so comfortable no matter what age , sex or background you come from. All the girls really welcome you and make you feel part of the decadence family. I have done a few training courses with them now and am booking more because they are just the best .

Came her today for a little TLC and had such a wonderful day, had a warm welcome as soon as I walked through the door, everyone was super lovely and welcoming. Firstly had a blow dry, Caroline was so professional she knew exactly what I wanted and she even put pins in to hold my curls whist I was having other treatments. Has a really great facial with instant results followed by Botox which I was a little worried about, but was put at ease. Overall it exceed my expectations and I would highly recommend, am looking forward to my next visit.

Wow what a place - my girlfriend visited the salon and could not sing higher praises. A relaxing, friendly and extremely talented team.

a drink, seated on a comfy chair and a magazine selection, to Mary’s exceptional knowledge and incredible result, I wish we had found this place years ago !! Thanks again girls !

I visited Decadence with a friend for a gel manicure and pedicure. We were greeted by the owner/manager who was sporting a full head of foil highlights which I felt was very unprofessional.
I thought we would have our treatments together but there was only one person who did these so my friend ended up waiting for 1.5 hours. The gel drying machine didn't work properly (wrong cable) so my thumb and little finger had to be re-done several times. The pedicure just involved sitting with my feet in a bowl of water for a few minutes, before removal of the old polish and application of new. I did actually have to ask if the beautician would clip my nails rather than just filing as they were rather long.
During our 2.5 hours at the salon there were lip filler procedures being carried out in full view of everyone. Not particularly pleasant to see blood trickling down these clients' faces. At one point (once the treatment chair was vacated), one of the staff sat down to have her lip filler removed.
The yellow bin for used needles was situated on the front window shelf in full view of passers by and was overflowing. Totally unacceptable.
The staff in general were pleasant and chatty but the whole experience was not enjoyable and I wouldn't recommend or re-visit Decadence again.

Visited the salon again today.Ashton and staff are lovely.It’s a lovely environment especially if you need cheering up.They we’re professional and went into detail about all treatments I was interested in.I will be back very soon.Happy with my treatment outcome today.

Awful experience. Wrong/unlicensed products used, no proper consultation, attitude when asking for follow up, no-show on 2 booked appointments and no contact to inform of not showing up, avoid this shop. Whole thing bordering on malpractice.

I got the keratin treatment done on October 30th, this is after the 3 day wash on Nov 3rd , no difference whatsoever... my hair is back to being what it was before the treatment... don't waste your money.
