Laura works miracles and Anna is the nicest lady. It feels like the ladies are fully invested in hair health and your personal wellbeing. Nothing is too much trouble and the products smell lovely and work wonders. It’s always like a mini-spa day visiting Daniel Field.

Unpleasant visit. Not recommended at all! The whole experience felt like I was being rushed through the door. The stylist barely exchanged a word with me even though I came earlier to accommodate THEIR schedule. Wash, cut and blow dry lasted 25min in total. Not care given in the world and would never visit again. If you are looking for a nice hair salon in Barnet, please visit SERENITY!

I haven't even gone to the salon yet ,but I can't wait! I had a consultation with the legend that is Daniel Field himself on the phone this morning after googling late last night online and sending him a long SOS email that was the sorry saga of my serial hair harming and hair- abusive ways .I never thought I would actually hear back from the man in person (that just about blew my mind ) I knew who he was because when trying to be a pop star i went to his salon in the early nineties and had the best colour ever .I also used to transform myself regularly with no damage to my then longer hair with his signature dyes that were sold at Boots .I have severely compromised hair from decades of heavy bleaching and double processing .I have had years of going black to blonde and red and brown and henna and back again to blonde .Recently after semi permanent used resulted in green ends it transpires that my hair is not holding semi permanent colour .Colours grab fast and well, but wash out immediately when wet and then look uneven and blotchy. My fried ends turn green on the first wash unless the hair is made a bright vibrant red i will have a green ends issue going on each time I get my hair wet .The vibrant red just doesn't suit my colouring and looks fake on me ,also because it fades unevenly it looks even more awful.
I'm also at that age where white hairs at the front won't take colour and the greys come in so fast that when i make my hair very dark i'm having to play catch up constantly to cover light roots and therefore using harsh colour high PPD dye right on the scalp .That is why I went back to blonde a few months ago to stop the ppd overload ,but unfortunately the bleach absolutely fries my poor hair and it got to the point where it was looking crispy no matter what expensive moisturising treatment I used.
I have also just discovered that my hair is not only breaking from all the over -processing ,but is falling straight from the scalp and leaving bald patches in exactly the spots where the scalp had been burning recently, Late last night ,in a fit of despair ,I took the rash decision to just cut the fried green blotchy uneven parts off with kitchen scissors I gave myself an uneven 'wolf cut',so my hair is now entering Suzi Quatro/Rod Stewart territory which would be cute if I was a twenty something hipster but I'm 54 now and it's just not the sophisticated look I aspire to,.
So, when I spoke with Daniel,I was really in hair crisis ,a tad depressed and feeling pretty hopeless. But within the first few seconds of introduction, he immediately made me laugh.
I cannot emphasise how lovely Daniel was in my consultation, and how much speaking with him cheered me up and put me on a high. What an amazingly fun ,humble, knowledgeable ,and extremely caring person. I think he is just about one of the nicest most tuned -in people I have ever spoken to in my entire life .The man is a genius hair -god and was always years ahead of his time.I've been in a good mood all day after my call with him .I now can't wait to have him sort my ratchety barnet out in Barnet !.Thanks Daniel x
(Reading the other reviews on here it's clear that you are deservedly adored and celebrated.)

Still the best hairdresser ever but so much more as well ! Daniel rescued me from damaged over permed badly coloured hair almost 20 years ago. I have never looked back. I trust his judgement on my colour and cut implicitly and have always been delighted with the result. He is also a kind caring person and remembers everything about his clients . He gives as much of his time as he can and offers gentle and wise counsel on all sorts of things. He is more of a friend to his clients than just a hairdresser. Thank you Daniel and team.

I was incensed to read a recent negative recent review on this site and although I have never written such a review previously, I felt that I had to write one now.

I discovered Daniel, of Daniel Field Hairdressing, in 2007, after completing medical treatment for Breast Cancer. I decided that I would only use toxic- free products on my hair and now travel 110 miles to his salon, specifically for his hair designing/cutting skills and the amazing products which he creates. I told him about Canceractive, for which he is now a Patron.

At heart, Daniel is an alchemist, designing and making products for the hair and skin, which are harmless to a human being.

He will even make a specific product for a client, who cannot tolerate any product on the market.

He is empathetic, gregarious, imparting his knowledge to his staff, to make sure that all customers get the best advice and help.

I often hear him helping his clients with problems, completely unrelated to hairdressing.

Terrible experience , probably the worst experience I’ve ever had in a salon . Paid a lot of money to have a colour with Daniel . Firstly , he was standing by me talking across the room to an employee about her hair ! Then he decided on a colour with absolutely no consultation whatsoever . He applied the tint and disappeared, forgetting to check the timer . When I queried the time , he sent someone to wash it off without even coming to check the colour .
I had come to the salon as I am recovering from cancer and thought he would be empathetic to the hair loss I’m experiencing . Far from it , I came out of the salon feeling a hundred times worse .
The rest of the staff were laughing , chatting and one was even doing her own hair throughout .
I would absolutely not recommend to anyone
In response to the owner suggesting below that this review is fake , I was refunded the next day on Daniels advice ( minus an apology from him ) , although the lovely lady who rang me apologised profusely . I have proof of my visit , and object to my experience being questioned or even potentially being falsified

I’m going to post on here everytime I need to go to get my hair sorted out following the the terrible and expensive service I received. Don’t even have the decency to respond.

*Why is the salon responding to the other poor reviews but not mine? You know full well the service was terrible. I’m still paying the price due to having to get my
Hair toned.*

Rushed! Hairdresser didn’t seem to care. Was a bosh job. Didn’t familiarise themselves with what I booked so I ended up paying for a rushed “blow dry” even though o didn’t want one. I’ve spent this week getting correctional colour and toner. I came in looking not my best and left looking worse. It is not the place to try and complain either - noisy, cliquey and just loud. Cut was wonky and colour didn’t suit me at all! Just one block colour all over. Nearly £200 down.Never again.

Daniel Field is amazing! Lovely salon and friendly staff. 💗💗 Daniel is such an experienced and talented hair stylist - he helped me to achieve the perfect colour that I was looking for. He was very kind and has great attention to detail. Jade has also coloured my hair and she did a great job and was so lovely. 🥰
I have thick wavy hair and the treatments I received at Daniel field made my hair feel great and were not damaging.
I have a sensitive scalp and the products were all suitable for me.

Will be coming back for sure. Highly recommend!! 🌟
