The Glasshouse Hair Salon

Since I was a young girl my mum would take me to the Glasshouse just to have simple trims. My mum began putting simple bleach highlights in my hair and even though my hair was a bit damaged (which is natural to happen when you bleach your hair) it was still in a decent condition, I admit it could had been better at the time but for bleached hair it was fine. I decided I wanted to get my prom hair done at the Glasshouse because I had always had a good experience there with my regular hairdresser at the time that gave me simple cuts and blowdrys who was lovely and always complimented the colour of my hair. When I told my regular hairdresser I was interested in getting my prom hair done at the glasshouse she told me I would have to book a trial appointment with a different hairdresser. When I went to my prom hair trial the hairdresser I had immediately made me feel very self conscious about my hair, she began to brush through it and she told me my hair had “a lot of breakage” and like I said before my hair wasn’t in amazing condition but it certainly wasn’t bad at all, I admit my hair was frizzy that day simply because it had been up in a very tight bun all day, that comment immediately made me feel very self conscious because my hair is often what makes me feel very confident. She then went on to tell me that I had nits, she said it was very common for my age and I believed her and she told me that when I were to get home I should coat my hair in conditioner and comb my hair through with very fine comb, I did so and I have to say I didn’t notice anything come off on the brush, my head hadn’t been itching at all and when I got my mum and other people to check they couldn’t see anything at all, she perhaps made a simple mistake but this made me feel even more anxious in the environment. I was very clear of what style I wanted for my prom hair, I wanted it half up half down with no height and I showed her a photo of what I was thinking, she did a great job and she was clearly very talented but she did the opposite of what I wanted and gave my hair a lot of height and it just wasn’t what I imagined and I didn’t feel particularly confident, although I stayed polite and said I liked the hair and it was very nice it just wasn’t what I asked for. After this appointment I decided not to go back to get my prom hair done there or to have my hair cut there ever again because since that appointment I had a really bad self confidence about my hair because of the comments she had said and they just overall made me not want to be in that environment again. I have since found a cheaper and better hair salon where I now also get my hair dyed and the staff are a lot nicer there and they often tell me that my hair is in good condition.

‘My third visit to The Glass House and possibly the worst experience I’ve had in a salon. My original appointment was cancelled because the stylist went home, I had to come later in the day which wasn’t convenient for me as I had other appointments in the afternoon. The stylist kept pulling my hair which was really painful, she kept doing it even after I told her it was hurting me. Not only that, she failed to do properly what I had asked for which was a wash and blow dry, this really shouldn’t be that hard for a hair dresser. Very disappointed in the service here.’

What a lovely experience! Used to be a client about 8-9 years ago. It was great to come back. Lucy really understands long hair, cutting and colouring. I’d been doing my own roots at home for several months and not had a cut for about a year. Lucy was exceptionally careful to make sure that the length was perfect and the colour matching was terrific. Everyone here is friendly and helpful. Thank you Glass House!

I love visiting this salon the atmosphere and ambience are delightful all staff are friendly and professional my hair is always beautiful and Cathy and her team always makes my visit enjoyable - I’m so happy to have found this classy salon

Recently booked my Girlfriend in to have colour cut and blow dry she absolutely loved it she was abit worried as she normally has her hair done in turkey when we are away but from now on will definitely keep using The Glass House.
Service was second to none felt welcomed as soon as we got there and Chelsie done a great job with the colour.
Highly recommend.

WOW! I went there on the 16.04.21 but dear Lord, I paid £170 for a haircut (shoulder length), highlights ( full head) and hair wash and rough dry.
More expensive than a hair salon in Ascot High Street. And it is LOUD like a pub inside. Staff shouts at each other accross the place. Chelsey was lovely, did a good job. I would have liked my colour a bit darker so I told her to ask Rebecca who did my hair previously about the colour shade. Well, it is a bit lighter, a lot bit. Will have to do coz cannot afford it for a while. Used to be more reasonably priced when the salon was in a shared ownership. After 2 weeks my hair is getting more orangey. Never been a red head. Furthermore I went to an Ascot salon and for the SAME treatment I paid £80, believe it or not last week, a month after my Glasshouse experience.
