Salon on the Green

I see Nicky for a cut , and Amber did my colour, PERFECT, 10 out of 10, Nicky is the best hairdresser, with many years experience, and Amber is a natural with colour, I am chuffed to bits, I have been going to them now since January 2022 and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

It was an awkward experience. I left the salon feeling very confused as I was really looking forward to a neck and shoulders massage that they offered to give me but it never happened. There were clearly some communication problems with the young lady who washed and cut my hair. Speaking of which, I believe that £40 for just a little trim is a bit expensive. While she was washing my hair, she asked me if I wanted a neck and shoulder massage as well. At the beginning I said no thank you, adding that I was a broke student, but a few minutes later I changed my mind, saying that I was happy to pay more and just wanted to treat myself that day. She then told me that actually you don't need to pay extra for it, as it's included in the price. I wonder why she didn't say it from the beginning. Anyway, she also added that she could have done the massage without oil, as my hair was now clean and she didn't want it to get greasy, so I told her "that would be fantastic, thank you". After a while though, I tried to give her a few hints, seeing that the massage was not happening. At some point I asked her "is it too late for that neck massage? Of course I don't want you to risk running late with your schedule" and she told me again that because my hair was clean she was worried it might get dirty because of the oil massage. I told her that it wasn't a problem, as I could have simply tied my hair in a very short ponytail but she didn't even reply to me. I didn't remind her that she was the one who suggested to give me a massage without oil as I didn't want her to feel like she had to do something against her will. I am aware that some people don't like to touch other people and I respect that, but if that's the case, then it would be probably best not to ask customers if they would like a massage to just later come up with awkward excuses whenever they try to remind you of that massage they were waiting for. That's my personal advice.

My first visit to the salon today. Relaxing environment, felt like I was in safe hands. Complete restyle for me expertly cut by Steven and colour by Sarah. Will definitely go back.

I popped into this salon on a lunch break as it was close to my work and I am so glad I did!
All the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I was booked in with Steven the same week for a much needed hair cut after a lot of stress and illness had left my hair in a bad way. He is an artist when it comes to cutting hair and I felt very at ease despite having a lot of hair cut off!
I wish I could have my hair done by him on a weekly basis!
I highly recommend him and the salon. I will be a returning customer.

I went for a cut and blow-dry yesterday with Amber. She put me at ease immediately--- this was my 1st visit to a salon for over a year having been cutting it myself. Result was one very happy customer Amber was brilliant and has put a style back in my hair So so happy Thank you Amber.

So chuffed with my experience at the salon today. My day was made by the lovely Sarah. She was so friendly and welcoming. I left feeling so pampered and well taken care of. Sarah has excellent skills and kept me very entertained with a wonderful chitchat during my appointment! Her perfectionism was very much admired, I was in safe hands.
I felt relaxed for the first time in a long time. The staff really went above and beyond to make sure the experience was topnotch. I will definitely be returning again. Such a lovely bunch of people and the quality of my hair is probably the best I've ever had! Soooo pleased. 100% recommend
