I have my nails done with Sophie every few weeks and she is absolutely brilliant (and hilarious). We chat the whole time and my nails have never been healthier! All staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and couldn’t do more for you. Definitely recommend!

I came to your salon after my sister recommended you. I had my long hair cut for the little princess trust with them. Everyone was so accommodating and understood my vision for a long bob. Brilliant team 🥰

The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Sophie did an amazing job with our make up and made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. We had our make up done w/ blow dry and she really made my mum feel special for her birthday. Venue was clean and professional whilst still making you feel homely and comfortable.

I love having my nails done by Sophie. She is such an asset to MRS. Been going for over a year and she does an amazing job on my nails. Best manicurist in Newport. I've moved but still come back to Newport to get them done.

My review is quite overdue and solely based on my first & last visit to this salon in January 2018, bearing in mind the service may have changed since then. I had highlights and a cut at a total of £107. I specifically asked for ‘caramel’ highlights and also showed some pictures. Colour wasn’t exactly what I imagined but that’s okay, it never is. The reason why I’ve deducted a star is because of the way I was spoken to. I had long hair at the time. I can’t remember whom the lady in question was but I do remember her words. “You should have told us your hair was long. You need to tell us next time”. Needless to say, there was no next time.

This was obviously my fault because I was an inconvenience.. an inconvenient paying customer.

I wasn’t asked about the length of my hair when I booked my appointment and neither did it occur to me to mention it myself. Of course I understand long hair takes more time to treat but I didn’t like the way I was patronised. This could’ve been said in a more polite/respectful manner.

The decor and interior of the salon was clean and fresh. Parking may also be an issue sometimes as there are limited spaces available. I managed to park in a spot right next to the hedges, which proved a little difficult trying to get out the car as I didn’t want to scratch my car opening the door.

I might give this salon a second try in the future.. maybe.

I have been attending MJs for a while now. The service is always friendly, welcoming and professional. The beauty treatments are always a pampering experience. Sophie is very creative and caring always wanting the very best for the customer.
