Duck & Dry

I came here for a hair event and had the best time! The team was great with textured hair, never had my hair so smooth!! Salon was extremely busy but everyone was well looked after. And it really encouraged me to come in for more blow dries, not the same as when you do it yourself!

I saw some mixed reviews but I must say that I have now been a few times and always had a nice time. The team are friendly and chatty, last time I came they fitted me in last minute and offered a drink and a magazine at the bar before my stylist was free. And my blow dries here are always well done and last a while

I went for the UK Launch of Carol's Daughter so I'm not reviewing their services I'm reviewing it as a venue, location and the general aesthetic. The salon is located in Mayfair which is easily accessible by public transport and one of London's most expensive neighbourhoods. The interior is very, very pretty, stylish, clean and typically feminine. Salon staff were polite and professional on the day of the event. Bathrooms were also tidy and fresh.

I came here for a press event and its such a great space! There is a bar and lots of space to sit, large group tables and although it was busy it was still good in terms of service. I had an express style, had it tonged and it was such a quick and easy way to spruce up my hair!! I really like the hairspray they used, it smelt lovely and actually kept my waves in place.

My friend & I visited the Mayfair branch and were really disappointed with the service. Because my hair was thick and apparently too long (even though it’s not waist length - as the price list describes) I was charged an extra £20. They said that this was because of the thickness (an extra £10) and an extra £10 because it’s still longish?! This isn’t advertised anywhere so I feel they just made this up to justify the price.

Also, the price list notice says the extra charge is for appointments that require extra time. My hair still only took the 30 minute time slot. Why am I being charged extra for the same amount of time?

The staff were so unfriendly and didn’t even offer me or my friend a drink. For the price, I would expect a free glass of Prosecco or something but this was extra. Regardless, at the very minimum, If you’re paying a premium price, I would expect the customer service to be excellent.

I appreciate that it was a nice blow dry and I am happy with how my hair looks but, for the price, I would not recommend. My friend has been to the Soho one and wasn’t charged extra (she also was this time) and said it was a much better experience.

I live just around the corner and come here often. The girls who work here are wonderful, Rosie the manager always looks after me and I never had any issues with booking in even last minute. A few times I had to wait for 10 minutes or so as the stylist was running late but was offered some tea and sat at the bar. It’s a lovely local salon.

Amy is my favourite stylist! She really understands my hair and it lasts for days!! I try booking with her as much as possible but once I had a different stylist and they also did a good job as she does the training there I’m told. The salon is also very nice, always clean and with a nice atmosphere.

I did not realise there was a nail bar as it’s a blow dry bar but it was one of the best manicures I ever had! Very very detailed job with every cuticle cut, nail technician really paid good attention. And my gel stayed for a long time. Also the salon is cute with a nice bar and music.
