Before starting mu appointment she checked my needs and requirements and then checked I was happy with the results.
I can highly recommend Hannah and the salon.
I explained that they had been recommended to me by an existing customer of the salon as well.
The person I spoke to was very nice until I mentioned that they had been recommended because they were apparently good with curls….. and her whole tone changed, she immediately flatly told me that I could only see Emma and she had no availability until the new year! I asked if it was only this one person who dealt with curly hair and she said yes and she’s fully booked…..
No offer of what the first available date in the New Year was or would I like to take a new year appointment, no acknowledgment of a recommendation by an existing customer either.
I ended the call and then thought Ooh maybe they do late nights and as I only said Christmas Eve maybe the person who deals with curly hair has evening availability before Christmas!
So I called the salon again and got another person this time who said I hadn’t spoken to her but she was aware of the conversation. I asked if there was any availability to be bluntly told No and that I need a colour test beforehand anyway and that I will need a specific curly cut (I didn’t want a cut) and that highlighting curly hair is very specific and they have to be placed in curly hair not like normal hair and she had no availability until the New Year.
After completing these two calls I was left feeling very deflated and rather hurt at the way both people had spoken to me.
There are ways to say things and give good customer service so rather than say “No you have to see Emma and she is fully booked up and has no availability until the New Year” the conversation would have been better as “Emma is our curly specialist here at the salon and the one who would work on your curls, because of this she is fully booked up until the new year but she has an appointment on XX date would that be any good for you or we could look further into January if that appointment is not good for you?”
Just some feedback from a prospective customer who had high hopes after a glowing recommendation and had viewed an inspiring Facebook page for the salon.
