The manager in particular (Anna?) can be quite opinionated about how to do your hair, and doesn't really "get" it. She also charges £5 to straighten your hair after a styling, which is not really fair because you aren't always told up-front.
However, any of the other girls are lovely and they will spend the time getting your style right without extorting your cash. Go in there with a clear picture of what you want, what colours you want etc and you'll get a decent 'do for an average price.
At the beginning the price was attractive - 30 pounds for a hair cut for students, washing not included - but at the end I finished to have a really bad memory.
First of all, the hairdresser wanted to cut my hair without washing it. My hair was dry, they should know that cutting dry hair can break the ends of the hair.
So I had to insist to have my hair washed because the hairdresser still wanted to cut them. I did not mind to pay 5 pounds more -so 35 pounds- to have my hair washed but always seemed to be in a hurry.
Then I said clearly that I wanted my hair short and she was always repeating ‘are you sure ? Your hair will be very very short ? It is on the neck already😱 ´. So at the end she had to cut my hair 3 times to get the length I had asked for at the beginning and I felt very very stressed because I was not sure about the result after that.
During the cut, she didn’t stop reproaching me for wasting her time, with a very sarcastic tone. Plus I am French so I think she thought I was not able to understand anything when she said that my hair ‘was very naughty’ and other things I cannot remember right now. 😉
At the end they made me pay 45 pounds and not 35 as they assured. I am absolutely sure that they said 35 because I made them repeat twice. I knew that the average price for a haircut in UK was around 45 pounds so I wanted to wait to have a cut in France, but the price they announced in the beginning was interesting. Plus I went there with a friend and he was also sure that they said 35 pounds for the total.
I wanted to finish this nightmare so I paid 45 pounds but really they do not deserve it for the service they offered.
Even if I am quite happy with my hair cut - which is very easy, just one length - I had a very bad experience of this salon.

I would recommend knowing what you want though instead of struggling your shoulders. I can see a few of those who go there then are left unsatisfied. Common sense is a uncommon vertue.
