Alsto-heat Ltd

Called Alsto-Heat for a Free no obligation Quote which was by far more expensive than two other companies I requested quotes from. Obviously didn't use them and now they are sending me bills for £58 odd for the pleasure and claiming the engineer carried out repair work(attempted turning a seized tap). Very disappointing from a company that was recommended to me as being good.

Had my boiler and radiators replaced, great service and value for money with a pleasant and friendly team of engineers. Couldn't fault their work and speed. Would highly recommend!

Alsto-Heat fitted an emergency boiler for me and I received top customer service from them. The workmanship was excellent and I would highly recommend them as a company.

I have used these plumbers to supply and install a Worcester Bosch boiler, rads and the full heating systems for my in-laws 3 bed house in the Cheltenham area which cost approximately £4.5k which was in the average territory for what needed to be done.

Few months later I needed the same for our new house which needed a bigger boiler and 13 rads with 2 towel rads. At first everything went okay until Roger with a South African accent wanted to cut corners. Naturally I wasn’t having none of it as I was paying approx £5k for this. I later realised that Roger just wanted to get the job over and done with and if it means cutting corners, he would try and do it and I found myself having to watch him while he works just so that he wasn’t taking the easy option.

Pete (Boss) at first was a pleasant chap to speak to when booking the jobs in but that did change very quickly when I pointed out issues that Roger created such as scratches on my new £4k LVT Flooring, dodge copper pipe work, wood flooring not cut in line with the joists and he made a right mess of it with lots of floor cut patches everywhere, seriously man...? And Roger broke our new Myra shower retailing at approx £600 which caused constant water leaks (Alsto Heat came out twice to try and fix this and couldn’t and also had the cheek in trying and bill us for the call outs and this was within a week of Alsto-Heats installation), had to call the Myra engineers out who kindly replaced the whole unit and they did this the first time and under 30 minutes with no leaking issues, thank god for them. Rodger became somewhat aggressive and started to become verbally abusive which was witnessed by my wife and Tapi carpet fitters which was unacceptable and embarrassing. When I brought this to Pete’s attention, he said he trusted Roger who he's known for years who'd given him a different story and quickly became defensive and argumentative towards me and my wife. I even sent Pete the business card of the Tapi Carpet fitters to investigate this matter himself and to this date we have not received an apologies.

Rogers famous words: ‘it’s not my job, it’s a carpenters job - it’s going to cost you more money mate - I’m going to have to call Pete - I don’t get paid enough for this...’

When I tried to call Simon one time who is Pete’s son, he didn’t realize that he had answered the call accidentally and I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. He was obviously speaking to someone and kept on addressing me with swear words and became aggressively irate, really BIG of you Simon...

As a family we paid Alsto little around £10k to supply and install 2 Worcester Bosch boilers with a full heating systems and plumbing for 2 bathrooms and I would not recommend this company to my friends or family ever again.

Do not be fooled by their initial pitch as this will change very quickly when you have a slight issue and they will also bill you for a call outs for an issue they create.

SERIOUSLY BE CAREFUL !!!

Do not use this company even when desperate!
Used them for a burst pipe on the washing machine during lockdown as we were desperate. The guy came over and said nothing was wrong even if the water was gushing out off the machine. 3 weeks passed, not able to wash our clothes and we finally managed to find a decent plumber to change a tiny pipe in 5 mns. Now we have to pay £48 for a job that an apprentice could have done but a "professional" from Also-heat Ltd couldn't.
And going to court over it as I don't care how much this going to cost me, I do not appreciate being taken for a mug.

We have used Alsto-heat Ltd on three separate occasions now and we have been very pleased with their service each time. Two occasions were to install and plumb up new sinks and the latest occasion was to repair a leak we had from our boiler. We currently have a HomeCare agreement with British Gas for our boiler, but we had a similar problem last year and British Gas came to repair, but now it's happened again so we decided to call on Alsto-heat. This was just before Christmas and we had no heating. Despite being very busy, Steve arranged for someone to assess the problem the same day I called and then another engineer attended the next day with the replacement parts needed and our heating was restored. The service was efficient, friendly and successful. I would certainly recommend as indeed they were recommended to me in the first place by a friend of mine.

Rang Alsto-Heat, Seemed Friendly and had lots of good reviews. My boiler was losing pressure and seemed to be leaking. The hot water and Heating was still working even with these problems. Alsto-Heat said the boiler was beyond repair and quoted for a new boiler. I did not believe them and got worcester bosch to look at it. It just needed a small part. Quote seemed very high for the price of the boiler they wanted to install. This is why I got a 2nd company in. Glad I did boiler is working great now.

Got these guys in to see my heating system as it was not working very well (Over heating). Guy was nice friendly but said the boiler was broken and needed replacing. Then quoted me 4k for a new one. I did not believe him and got a second opinion. It was just a small part that needed replacing. Use them at your own risk. Get a 2nd opinion if your unsure. Also when looking at the quote boiler quoted was only 1.2k online so they wanted £350 per hour to install a new one. (Based on 8 hours work). BE WARNED These guys should be investigated.
