Hertswood Academy

Awful school, no communication, teachers have no respect for pupils or parents. Even tho they preach their policies and safeguarding to their students they do not follow them through, bullying is out of control to where I have had to involve police as school didn't deal with it and to add to injury the bully was allowed back into school a week later, where as children are taken out their lessons for petty little issues and put into a small room.
My child is taking their GCSE's and chose science and not once have they had a chemistry lesson as the school can not provide a teacher.
I could go on but I don't want to bore you, would not recommend this school if you value your child's future.

I wouldn't even give this school 1 star. You have done nothing to keep my brother safe from bullies. He is coming home crying punching and everything. I will happily come down there and teach the teachers and students some decency as the bullying isn't just affecting my brother but me too as I was badly bullied really badly and it's bringing back the traumer of my past.

The school is absolutely awful at teaching and dealing with bullying and a French teacher can't do his job properly

My friends are being bullied at the school they’ve tried to talk to the teachers such as head of learning, behaviour team and so on and they all didn’t listen. the school policy is a disgusting and should be delt with immediately don’t send ur child here from my experience from being at the school

Drop off / pick up is a regular bus stop situated just in front of the academy and that means we shouldn't block it

Pretty good school honestly, most of the staff are amazing and want nothing more than to help students. Some kids obviously won't be well-behaved - but unfortunately - even though the school tries, they can't do much about them. Food is nice and diverse, although some days it's subpar.
I see a lot of reviews on here about bullying, even though the school tries its best to stop it. The school just believes everyone deserves a chance, so they don't permanently exclude anyone. The new building is great though, and the head teacher is really nice too.

Personally, not very good. Problems arise, teachers say they will do something about it, but nothing ever happens. There is a severe lack of communication between staff and students. Staff will often pick favorites among students. Overall, this school harms it's students and I do not know why OFSTED set it as "Good". Wish I could put negative stars, Honestly.

It's only been a week but I'm so impressed by this school and their priorities and their focus! My daughter joined a week a go and was bullied badly in first day which was devastating.
The way the school dealt with it was nothing short of on par. I'm so impressed! I avoided this school for rumours etc for 3 years but had to give in due to change of circumstances. First day was devastating but the school absolutely nailed it and my daughter is so happy there! Really incredible response from the school. Yr 8 leaders ..hats off!!!! Xx thank you so so much x
