Can't say enough good things about this school. Supportive of all the children and refreshingly supportive of the ones who want to do well and are prepared to work hard for it. I've always told my children. Only the foolish hate being taught. Our education system works brilliantly if you want to be educated.

I have three children affiliated to Sanders School from 2010 to current

Pro's:
- Good transport links to school
- Excellent art, history, geography teachers but there is a high staff
turnover and all too often the good ones leave.
- There is a primary school on the same site if you have other children.

Con's:
- Health & safety issues; kids getting locked in toilets during lessons,
never any hand soap, tap water only trickles (limescale/washer issues)
rarely any toilet paper (I send it in with my kids). A child climbed onto
the school roof during break and had to be removed by emergency
services. Staff supervision is questionable - my child was set upon by
boys 2 years above him on the back field. Staff nowhere to be seen

- Data Protection Issues: staff went through my daughter's bag, retrieved
her phone and started reading through messages and contacts to prove
the phone was hers so they could confiscate it. Bear in mind, that said
phone was vital in alerting me to the fact she was locked in the toilets
by staff during lesson, so that I could call the school to release her.

- Staff Integrity - very questionable. Dare you question a member of staff
they will pursue an onslaught of fabricated events to punish your child
to get back at you. I have witnessed (and recorded) staff lying about
'incidents' involving my child. When presented with the evidence, they
manifested an excuse to punish my son. Their malice knows no
bounds, but I now regard my child to be 'at risk' in their care.

- School governance - again, questionable. The governors and head
teacher work in unison. They are a cohesive team and generally
echo one another. Don't expect an impartial unbiased response for
escalated matters. For that, you'd need to escalate outside their
faraday cage.

I am an honest, fair and transparent person. Is it too much to expect the same of a service provider charged with realising my child's potential? Is it acceptable for the school to dictate expectations from the children, but fail to lead by example? My parenting style encourages lateral thinking and to evaluate and challenge the information presented. It is unfortunate that a school full of academics are devoid of the capacity to acknowledge this as a life skill, instead labelling it as a 'behavioural' problem, thereby suppressing the very essence of reasoning and logic.

I would not recommend this school to any conscientious parent.

Wasn't impressed. Had an English teacher who couldn't even use correct grammar when trying to impress parents on an open day. Shocking! I'm sure it'll do for some though....
