Personally, my experience here was awful. The Principle (who is still the Principle) was very misogynistic and anti-LGBT. Staff members said a lot of anti-feminist or LGBT things and it really wasn't a safe environment. I wouldn't send a child here if you want that child to feel respected and safe.

My daughter got transferred to this school in year 9 after some unfortunate events in her old school.
Upon transferring the school was constantly in touch with me. About the progress and well-being of my daughter.
I cannot fault the school at all, there support towards me and my daughter was smashing!

By far the best high school within Yeovil.

year 11 students can not access their home accounts during 8 and 3 which i think is extremely selfish of the school, when the majority of them do not want to do the school work which their being force fed by the school who is not allowing them to use their own accounts. Come on Westfield i expected better

I can confirm as a Queer and Transgender student who attended this school: This school does NOT have an anti-discrimination policy! Teachers frequently misgendered me and refused to let me use the boy's bathrooms. (I had a use the disabled toilets and produce a little permission card every time I had to pee! Which some teachers didn't accept anyway!)

In the school's defence, perhaps it's better now Chris Hunt is gone. He would frequently misgender me and refer to me as a "young lady," along with insisting on using my deadname. My head of house was the same. They also gave my prom photos to the newspaper without my permission along with my deadname!

If you are the parent of a trans child, your child will not be safe or respected here. If you are trans, ask your parents to send you literally anywhere else!

EDIT: They tried to delete my review! They can deny this happened but I have evidence of it from my time at school. My experience is one future LGBT pupils need to know about! (In case anyone is interested, yes I did try and make complaints within the school and after I graduated but no one cared to even reply. If the anyone at the school has a problem with my review, they can contact me to discuss it like an adult would, rather than simply trying to cover up my traumatic experiences.)

Very poor for Sen children, avoid at all costs.
Not truthful in actions.
Have very little understanding of specialist needs. Emotionally damaging to vulnerable young people...my sons been in therapy due to this poor school.

Very good school. The teachers all work hard to help the children learn and are always there if you need advice. Any bad behaviour is disciplined accordingly, and good behaviour is rewarded. Hygiene is very good as everything is cleaned after all the students have left. Meals are sold on site for students and staff alike with a good variety for a decent price. After school clubs are offered to help your child progress after hours. If you are planning on sending your child here I would definitely recommend it.
