Isolated and windswept with sensational views of the surrounding countryside. There is a small car park at the bottom and it is a good starting point for a walk along the Ridgeway. If you a photographer it is good at either sunset or sunrise. There are several trees up there that have been pushed to the side by the exposed position. Sometime you will see deer up there.

Park your car here and set off to soak in some of the best views in Hertfordshire.

You can set off from Pitstone hill and walk up to the top, take in the breathtaking views then continue along to Ivinghoe beacon and beyond.

Bring a long lead if you’re with your dog because there can be cattle and sheep grazing.

Lots of lovely spots to stop for a picnic.

A nice relaxing walk. We had a picnic on the side of the hill. Very picturesque.

Beautiful walk over the hills near to Pitstone and to view Pitstone windmill from afar!

It's a hill! But, good parking, and lots of walks around the hill. Pretty tricky in the wetter months, but during the dry season it's easy going. You find a lot of of people up here on a warm summers evening, out for a walk or just watching the sun set, and there's often quite a special, relaxed atmosphere here. You can even use off road buggies and wheelchairs to walk in the field opposite back up towards the top of the ridge. Really great views down into the vale, giving you panoramas from over near Tring and Wendover round past Aylesbury and Leighton Buzzard and off towards Luton and Dunstable.

Fantastic walking location for all the family, including the dog. The climb is worth it for the panoramic views.
