Memorial Tree

Short little walk/hike from the parking lot.
View are good from up there overlooking town, railway, race course and distant hills.
Be vary this area is heavily used for golf so be nice avoid their path and game.

It's a really great resource to be able to walk around Cleeve hill and common. Unless you're playing golf up there 2-3 hours is plenty to get round virtually the whole area. Once up on the top you can amble along at your own pace so it's suitable for all abilities. Fine crop of fungi this autumn. 2019.

A pretty landmark in the middle of the common with lovely views down to Cheltenham.

Beautiful picnic spot, easy to walk to from the car park at the pylons.

Seriously popular tree, having taken note of advice on importance of location. Has some good seats but expect passing goons to look through you to read the various memorial plaques. Can be mildly disturbing if you're not goon-ready. Great views in all directions, though it's a mix of fine scenery and the urban sprawl of CheltGlou. We must talk about the golfing ninjas 🥷- you have to get through these ball-whacking assassins to get near the tree as someone planted a golf course around it. For some this will add a frission of adventure, for others a large and unwelcome bump on the head.

A stunning place to go, there's plenty of walks to enjoy, giving stunning views of the Cotswolds and surrounding Gloucestershire countryside.
