One of my favourite trail centre loops. Essentially 3 climbs and 3 descents. The trail head is just a car park with a couple of toilets but there's a pub very nearby. Can also link it with the black (raven) loop really easily for extra fun/pain.

Absolutely awesome XC trail. Not hugely long, but fun-packed with brilliant downhill and some nice technical climbs. A few fireroad ascents, particularly at the beginning, but really, really good fun.

Not only an MTB trail. It's an extremely well organised and kept woodland walk for all ages and abilities. 3 different sized routes are all clearly mapped out the largest being around a 6 odd miles circular type with plenty of woodland views to see along the way. Fair sized car park though I'm not sure that there were toilet facilities there.
A fantastic little hidden gem then for folks with two wheels or two feet - well done!

This is a review of the forest walks here rather than the cycle trail, although due to my sisters navigating skills we did walk art of teh cycle trail too! Brechfa forest was only 10 minutes away (no floods) from where we were staying (Ty Mawr in Brechfa) and we parked up and let the dogs off. They had a great time running and exploring although we had to keep them away from the river.
The forest was very pretty, in a Mirkwood kind of way. It is wet here so often that the trees were all coated with moss and there are ferns everywhere. We also saw some frogspawn in one of the pond ish areas.
Sadly, my sister was responsible for navigating so by the time we found the car park again it was starting to get dark and we'd done 10k in 2 hours and the dogs had probably done 25k.

Last third, that we did first was great, challenging enough and satisfying. Managed to miss a turn off the forest road onto single track in first quarter, but found a great descent on an old fire track that made up for it

Gorlech seemed to be lots of fire road climbing but trails were great fun and well maintained. I did manage to miss two turns though! Thanks to all involved in the up keep of the forest

Excellent day yesterday with my son. The route is brilliant mix of climbing a descending. Very well marked and easy to follow. I used Trailforks app but only for elevation details.

Took my lad here recently. Saw two signs and then no more. Poorly signed to follow the trail. Did a hrs cycling , mainly on fire road and then turned back. Get more signs up as there were quite a few splits in the fire road and arrows!! One star purely for bad signage.
