The Miller Bridge, formerly named Mill bridge, was erected in 1818 to the design of John Rennie. It was a replacement of earlier bridges, one of which was destroyed by a flood.

As far as bridges go, you can go over it safely walking, driving or riding a bike! The view isn't bad either if you catch it on a good day.

Had a very pleasant stroll along the river bank to this picturesque 19th century road bridge. It gets its name from the castle corn mill that stood on the opposite bank, separated from the town by a wooden bridge in centuries gone by. Lovely views from both sides of the bridge. It's well worth taking a walk along the leafy riverside path that begins here and passes behind the Abbot Hall Garden and the beautiful parish church.

It's a bridge and it's still there, which made life an awful lot easier for those crossing the river.
