There were a surprising number of visitors, considering that there's not a lot to see, and that a bit of a walk is required to get there. Everyone was interested and involved in their visit, especially a number of children who were fascinated by the ruined castle.
Pleasant walk along the canal.
Well preserved.
It has been built by King John sometime around 1204.
The castle played the major part in English rule during the Plantaganet dynasty.
In 13th and 14th century the Odiham castle gave shelter to Kings and Queens suffered seiges.
Lovely walk along the canal and place to have the picnic.
Can be a bit muddy, so make sure to have your wellies on. :)
Great place for dog walkers and hickers.
Sadly, not much remains of this wonderful piece of history, in which the castle has seen a fair amount of in its time. Considering it actually had a curtain wall at one point with a motte.
I would recommend coming to this ruin, before or after a walk along the canal.
