Beautiful location. Strategic placing of benches. Pathways are a little narrow and used by pedestrians, cyclists and joggers all attempting to enjoy the Riverside whilst dodging puddles.

Beautiful place to go around. Good space to walk or jog riverside. On the bridge one can see the working process of locks.

Richmond Lock is an impressive engineering feat and is one of the most iconic Thames River landmarks on this stretch of the river. It is well worth a side trip from your walk towards Kew and beyond. What a magnificient piece of Victorian engineering, a lovely piece of history! The locks are in regular use. It’s quite an awesome sight if you’ve never watched a lock in operation. The lock-keeper choreographs the whole process. .. and watching the boats navigate the locks in a disciplined manner, simply awe-inspiring There are pleasant riverside walks in both directions and cozy cafes in Richmond and at Iselworth.

Visited here in March 2022 as part of walking the Capital Ring route around London. This is the western crossing point over the Thames on the route and has a bridge over a lock and weir.

What's this, the leaning tower of pilons, not bad considering some of equipment used was probably the from the 1950s
